I know his numbers at the plate are decent but there not A-Rod numbers. Joe Crede has better numbers. And A-Rod's fielding...thats another story

I could care less what the media and bad fans of NY say. I'm just going by what I watch "every day" . I watch the Yankees every day and I see a man having a bad year. I dont hate him. I am my best source of information from watching them...yes everyday

his numbers are o.k. There are too many average players who have better numbers. Plus his numbers are below average in key situations, plus his fielding is way below average. He is just not a hitter like Big Papi

A-Rod has never been a money player. This is coming from a Yankee fan so I know how disappointing he has been. This guy rarely comes through when the game is on the line. Maybe it's the 25 million that haunts him or the pressure of the Big Apple. Whatever it is if he doesn't deal with it he'll be run out of town. Mike Mussina has every right to be pissed off. This is the second time A-Rod has cost him a win. A-Rods numbers are usually gathered when the games are either out of reach or so far a head it does matter. With the type of lineup the Yankees have they really don't need him.

Since when did hitting .285 with 25 HR's and 80+ RBI's amount to having a bad year? Considering it's above the league average, I do not think it's a bad season...yes, his defense is horrible, as he is not making throws, which is not acceptable...but by the time the season ends, he will more than likely have over 100+ RBI's and 30+ HR's. That is a pretty darn good year at the plate by most hitters accounts.

Yes, he's A-Rod, the highest paid player in the game...but that does not mean he is superhuman.

A-Rod is one of the biggest "lightning rods" for criticism that I've ever seen...somewhat unfairly, but when you're considered the best all-around active player, and playing in pinstripes, it does go with the territory.

But, the deal with A-Rod is this. The biggest criticism of him coming into 2006 is his clutch play. so, let's say that he ends the season at about .280, with 35 homers and 115 rbi(s), which would be a down year for him. Will that even matter if he's the MVP of the World Series? I'm not saying this will happen, but that is now A-Rod's "litmus test". He's an easy 1st ballot HOF-er, and potentially a Top 5 all-time player, but he has to be the key to a championship or two.

A-Rod is having an off year, no doubt, but it's really made worse by all the hype he gets surrounding the Yankees and because of the NYC media. If he were still in Texas or Seattle having this year, it wouldn't be any big deal... and there wouldn't be pictures of him sunbathing all over the papers... New York fans and media are ridiculous when it comes to holding their sports figures to a higher standard.

A-rod having a bad year is like 90% of the league having a good year. Everyone has a down year every few years, so I think he'll bounce back next year. It's A-rod! The highest paid, and probably best player in baseball! No need to worry.

For A-Rod, sure. But to put it in perspective, Rodriguez and Jeter's OPS are pratically identical (.899 to .895), and many people are talking Jeter up as the MVP.

Rodriguez is having his worse season yet but it is as good as Jeter's, who is worshipped in New York and in the media.

Rodriguez gets more bad press than Barry Bonds. It is almost completely unjustified.

true, A-Rod is not the one we came to love with near 40-40 possiblity in texas and a few years back, but even though his numbers are good, surrounded by a pretty stellar Yankees lineup, it makes him look even worse...the yankees are probably the only team he could be batting in the bottom half for...

Well, A-Rod is having a hard time living up to his expectations lately, but so are some of the other MLB players that everyone rips on (yes, my Josh Beckett is one of them!!) That still doesn't mean he "sucks" or is going thru a "slump"!

hey Fabio..did you see me on T.V. last night? I waived to ya!
