My catcher's mitt does not have the greatest padding and if you catch it in the wrong spot it stings like crazy even when I put on my batting glove underneath. My hand was swollen after playing the other day. I would like to know if MLB models are better padded or if the catcher puts extra pads in the mitt. What do they do to reduce the stinging of catching the pitcher?

who ever said try mizuno is obviously an idiot

i just ordered a rawlings heart of the hide 32.5" glove

i had a Wilson a2000 but the leather got way too soft, and i dont like that personally.
akademas are all right, i was looking at one of those
mizuno can go back to japan (not being racist)
glovsmith are decent, but overpriced

overall i would say go for a rawlings HOH (heart of hide) or pro preferred, even the gold glove series works.

I'm a high school varsity catcher of a state tournament team.
rawlings has the best padding, and is the most durable

Budge Rodiguez model is the best. Also Academia Models are really great(not sure of spelling)My son used both models and never complained about the sting. And no batting glove was worn

Mizuno has a good rep. I don't want to age myself, but I have heard of catchers putting a thin steak (as in beaf steak for dinner) in their mitt.
