I heard it was to keep the tires warm, but since they've already been going around the track a zillion times, wouldn't the tires be warm enough?

I know that Sundays race was a mess! I blame it mainly on the rain and the inconsistancy of Nascar rules.
But I think Saturdays race was great!!!!
The finish was .085 seconds between 1st and 2nd place.
It was the kind of race a Nascar fan lives for!
I hope everyone enjoyed it?

The announcers were obviously dejected when it became apparent that Greg Biffle had won the race. They wanted Bowyer to win so badly that he was all they talked about the last 10 laps. These announcers should be impartial and not show obvious emotions when the driver they want to win doesn't. I understand Ned Jarrett and Darrell Waltrip pulling for relatives to win the Daytona 500, but none of these announcers have ties to Bowyer that I know of.

Honestly, what Dale did to Kyle was something that, normally, ONLY Stewart would do... Dale should know better.

Kyle is an awesome driver but he just has the worst luck. He should have won so many races if it werent for being punted out of the way but aggressive drivers, that all got away with no penalties for doing it.
I think Hendricks made a mistake by letting Kyle go...especially for Dale Jr....c'mon.

I have a theory, but it would involve an MRI scan of Robin Pemberton's (the NASCAR competition director's) head.

We turned it off thinking Tony Stewart had another fluky win, and I was very surprised to find out how it really ended. I don't even think Greg Biffle's mama's happy.

I mean, c'mon everytime there is a questionable call this season it has helped a Hendricks driver. This "sport" is the sloppiest when it comes to rules. If there is debris that can damage a car, call a caution. If someone blows their motor, Call a caution. A tire goes down and they hit a wall, Call a caution. Cars spinning through the infield, call a caution. Cars do not pass inspection, points and fine. It really isn't that hard is it?

Ok, so I watched the race up until the rain delay and thought it was over. This morning I find out that they restarted it 2hrs later, thats all fine and dandy. But I also hear about the controversial ending. Ok, so maybe Biffle should not have won! But why does everyone say the only reason the race was re-started in the first place was Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordan's fault? That is ignorant. I think the race should have stayed red flagged w/ (and I hate to admit) Tony Stewart as the winner. Ok, so it went on and Boyer actually crossed the finish line first, but he is not the winner...wtf? An interview I read from Jeff said Boyer was the winner, even though pts wise it was better for Jeff if Biffle won...I dont know, maybe I am just completly confused b/c i missed the ending! Please help me out w/ my question...I think honestly the reason they restarted the race was b/c it was a chase race and not reg season race....not b/c of jeff and jimmie's standings...expain please!!

Stopped race due to rain pass 1/2 way mark ..but they started it again knowing it would take an hour to dry and there would not be enough daylight to finish the race. Race should have been over due to the rain OR they should have waited until a time and day the race could be finished,It has happened how many times before ? I cheer for many drivers ,I felt very bad that so many of the chase drivers were in accidents and felt it was due to Nascar misjudgement .Maybe there needs to be a change in Nascar too.I think Greg Biffle was just so excited he just forgot to finish the race .The race should have been over at the call of rain or finished another day.It was a screwed up mess...

Denny Hamlin Cinderella existance has been blessed with no wrecks and carnage since he got in the cup. Can he actually handle being in the mix of things. As per his interview yesterday he was heard saying that the cars involved in his wreck, wreck all the time anyway. Well welcome to the real world Hamlin!!!

Okay everyone is bashing Dale Jr for running into Kyle, should he of lifted? Yea maybe should Kyle kept his line instead of pulling up in front of him? Yea maybe to that too, what we had yesterday was a racing deal. Kyle is just a jerk at least Dale Jr will admit when he screws up just like he did lastnight do you think he really wants to damper his realationship with the team he's going to race for next year? Come on if you say yes your lying to yourself.

Does everyone forget Texas???? Who ran into who???? who was a man and didn't flee from the track and got into a another man's car and finished the race??? If that isn't class what is? yes i'm a Junior fan but i grew up around racing and realized yesterday yes he did screw up but you know what he admitted to it and apologized to that team and kyle.

Dale Jr isn't his dad he doesn't run into people on a regular race to race and he admits his screw ups instead of alot of your drivers today who are never wrong. Give Junior credit

This article http://www.nascar.com/2007/news/headlines/cup/09/30/kansas.post.race.ap.ap/index.html says " the field was frozen and passing is not allowed under caution". I understand them passing Biffle. But Jimmie Johnson clearly passed Clint Bowyer under caution. He gained speed and was clearly going faster than the rest of the pack. Here is the video http://www.nascar.com/video/cup/2007/09/30/cup.kan.final.nascar/frameset.exclude.html?MostPopular of him making the pass.

Should this be or is this a penalty?

Biffle ran out of fuel and was not able to maintain caution speed.... he was passed & therefore was no longer able to be scored in 1st. SORRY.... just like on any other caution, if a driver pulls off to pit lane & is passed, he loses his spot in line. This isn't the scoring at the TIME caution was called. Biffle was first at the TIME caution came out.... but under the YELLOW, he lost his spot when he could no longer maintain track speed.

If you disagree, then explain what happens then in the middle of the race and Stewart was the leader and they did NOT red flag the race like they did? What if they'd continued to run caution laps & Stewart had run out of fuel & was passed by the other drivers?

Does anyone have any other records to show what NASCAR has done in the past or is this the first time this has EVER happened?

The rules are whatever NASCAR wants whenever they want, with whatever driver they like or dislike... & they make the rules fit whatever NASCAR wants!!!

His interviews saying "Biffle didn't win" are embarrasing.

Apparently, Kenseth is the only driver who got the "Act Like a Champion" memo this decade.

be raced, I don't care if it takes 2 days, if it rains they finish the race the next day, Or make sure all the chase races have lights, or something, This is the championship!!!!!, Today's race at Kansas was really really bogus!! Greg Biffle would have ran out of gas, (he did run out of gas) Jimmie Johnson had the car to beat! (would have probably pased Bowyer) , both Clint Bowyer and Jimmie Johnson are going for the championship. Don't you think Nascar really needs do some changes, because today's race was just ridulous!

If golden boy (JG) had been in 1st after the rain delay they would have called it over after 30 minutes, don't you think?

After 26 races this season, Jeff Gordon had a 675 point lead on Clint Bowyer under "regular season" scoring. With the Chase format, you take a driver that has basically just survived this season and had no shot to catch the leader had this been in the days of Petty or Earnhardt, and you put him within 40 points. Now, since he has a great couple of races, something he was not able to do for 2/3 of the season, and he is within 9 points of the Championship? Would fans from 20 years ago been okay with saying Bowyer was the Championship Driver back in the days of old? This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. At least if Stewart, Johnson, or Denny Hamlin won you could argue that they were right there all season long chasing the leader.... but Bowyer? I think I would say this is proof the Chase doesn't work if you are trying to find a system that is fair and really a season of 36 races. Any comments?
