MONEY. And after this year, I think that they pretty much
have the engine problems figured out so now it just being
able to get the cars to perform on the track. And Gibbs
has the experience for that. Watch Toyota do a lot better
next year with Gibbs racing.

I bet that Toyota is giving some free breaks to Gibbs and in return Toyota wants Gibbs to move them forward in NASCAR...Waltrip is having a horrible year so they will try the big guns.... I also think more competition has something to do with it. There are a lot more Chevys out there than any other manufacture...But in one word....Money$$$$$$$

I think part of it is money. Also with the COT the cars will be more alike, so it won't be as much a disadvantage as it would have been before. He already has good drivers. If Gibbs does well with the Toyota it will be a real plus, either way think of all the air time he'll get from the announcers talking about it. Sponsors love that.

Toyota is going to spend more on NASCAR next year than has ever been spent. They spend $300 million a year on their F1 program so the NASCAR venture is not virgin territory for them. The biggest advantage they have is the F1 technology and access to non-racing testing facilities that can be applied to NASCAR. Joe Gibbs is a perfect fit because he always performs well during and because of change.

You have to understand that the power of the dollar is grasping NASCAR tighter everyday. Toyota is dominating the craftman truck series yet not so much at first. Given the statistics they are likely to grow within the next year and will most likely become a dominant force. I am personally a Chevy fan because most of the great (not all) drive them. I personally think they will flop but they are no stranger's to gambling.

I think they believe the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. Dale Jarrett left to drive a Toyota and look how his season went. Bet he is looking for a ride next year.

Toyota probably offered more money and know a days money talks. But this hurts Tony Stewart cause Chevy sponsors all his sprint cars.

Toyota isn't doing nearly as bad as it looks like they are. They have a bunch of start up teams and Bill Davis Racing. Bill Davis racing is doing about the same as they were last year. Gibbs will pick up where they left off.

A lot of it might have been the number of cars GM sponsors. Gibbs wants to be top dog but as long has Hendricks keeps cheating, it would be hard. Keep in mind before you thumbs down me, how many times have they been caught this year?? 5 or so?
