I have a theory, but it would involve an MRI scan of Robin Pemberton's (the NASCAR competition director's) head.

We turned it off thinking Tony Stewart had another fluky win, and I was very surprised to find out how it really ended. I don't even think Greg Biffle's mama's happy.

NASCAR rules state that a race will NOT be restarted unless it has the opportunity to go the distance, yet they purposely restarted and set the finish at 225 when they waved it green again. It had already gone over the midway point making it an official race, therefor NASCAR should not have restarted. 225 or 211 or the 150 something they were at when it was red flagged is all a partial race. NASCAR is attempting to play favorites with the finishing order by saying, we are going to give it another try, then another then another, until they find a finish that suits them. When the rules clearly state that it shouldn't go green without the time allowed and expectation of completion. Also if Biffle could not maintain speed yet is still not allowed to be passed when the yellow came out, why did Daytona not freeze the order giving Mark Martin the 500 win? NASCAR is a dictatorship that changes its mood and decisions daily where no one has any hope of overturning its rulings. They make up the rules and change them as they go!

Because it is there duty if the daylight allows and the radar says it is going to dry up to get as many laps in as they can. This is the way it has always been and will always be. You if there is any series that will screw it up it is NASCAR
Most race fans know this. When you buy a ticket you take that chance. You take a chance that someone you don't like might win too. I'm not sure where the story has anything to do with the rain?
This story is how can a guy fall behind because he ran out of gas and still win the race? Make the rules as you go would be an acceptable answer. NASCAR is very good at that.

I'm glad that they restarted the race. The storms blew out of the area quickly like they always do in the midwest and they had plenty of time to finish the race and they did the same thing at Pocono almost and its just their was still daylight and the drivers really wanted to race. The guys who wanted it to be called just didnt want to get screwed over like they would have. NASCAR calls it the way they see it not because a certain driver is doing poorly or good as that is just a theory that will never been proven true.

Nascar needs to have a change in officials .They need to be fair to all the teams racing. The race was over when stopped due to rain as far as many drivers were concerned and had stated they had went in took showers and were ready to go home. When the race was restated they all drove so hard never knowing if it was going to rain again or beat the sunset. Nascar officals were just pulling another of their power thingy.I was very upset watching all those Chase drivers reck up. Then they want to go thru Biffle's car with a fine tooth comb to find it a fraction off so they can fine the team and pocket more $$$

I omit the vans besides. i like the way it is all out racing to those men! I constantly watch all of the races and there is not any longer a series that i do no longer want to exhibit screen. We used to have the truck Races here in Ohio, yet they moved our race to Kansas. :(

This is the reason as to why the race was started again. The head of the concession stands at the track, Tomhas Weedelmier, contacted race control and informed them that only 40% of the beer purchased for that day had been sold. So according to the Nascar rule book page 314 pragragh 2E race control must do their best to keep the patrons at the track until 80% of the beer is sold. But when this rule is invocked Nascar gets an extra 10% of said profits from all beer sold after the 40% that had been sold before the rule was called into play.
Just read the book, it's all there!!!

If you paid to see the race, would you have been happy to see the race end when it was "assumed" it would be?

I didn't think so....

As for the Gordon/Johnson detractors, will you ppl ever grow up and act like adults, or like ppl with a brain in your head? One can only hope I guess.

As for the race ending under caution, that was totally uncalled for. However, NASCAR knew Biffle was low on fuel, so they decided to end the race. Who knows, perhaps NASCAR's decision saved other drivers from getting into a wreck had they gone back to green, which would have put Biffle in harms way once he ran out of fuel. They say things happen for a reason.....

NASCAR always tries to finish ever race. Just because the
race is more than half over and there is a rain delay does
it mean that the race is over. If they can clean up the track
and get them racing again, they will. AFAIK, the only things
that can shorten a race is rain and time constraints, like
darkness (Sunday) or noise ordinances in certain areas
(if the track has lights)

For the same reason that they have Green/White/Checker finishes. It's all about letting the fans see as much of the race as possible.

Face it folks....that storm blew over pretty quickly. There would be a lot of disgruntled fans had they not restarted that race, and the sun started shining while they were still in the parking lot.

Oh, shucks, gotta have poster boy's Gordon or Johnson win. Yesterday's race was a joke. I did turn on football, figured Tony "The Mouth" had won. Saw the results on Sportscenter that night. Then I saw Biffle pull off the track and Bowyer won. Then they said no, Biffle won. What a load of bull crap.
