I blame NASCAR. he should have been black flagged. I don't know who made the call (Stewart or Zippadelli) but it was a very stupid thing to do considering Stewart is a chase contender. Carl Edwards and Kurt Busch had to pay for that stupidity.

They risked it and lost. I'm pretty sure Zippy makes the final choice since he is crew chief. That's his job. Once the race went green and they saw how bad it was they were screwed either way. They lose laps pitting or they hope to ride it out. Had they pitted and lost laps people would complain about well what if the tire had been OK and how they gave up track position. Its easy to play Monday morning crew chief.

Yes they should have black flagged him. They need to use that flag more often and get dangerous cars off the track. I'm tired of seeing cars back on the track after a wreck, that are all torn up, just trying to get points. They are either an accident or debris caution waiting to happen. Today Tony took himself out of it, and unfortunatley a couple others, but i think NASCAR needs to penalize cars that cause avoidable cautions like today. Maybe a lap, or they have to park it for the day. Last week it was Truex out there trying to get points with all kinds of crap falling off his car.

Yes, NASCAR should have black flagged him. They should stick to a system, and use it.
I remember several years ago a driver being black flagged for loose tape on the car!
He may have lost some spots, but he would not have wrecked or taken Carl out.

He should have been black Flagged-- Nascar called the race short because of darkness for the drivers safety. Well they should have been concerned about the drivers safety and black flagged Stewart to avoid the wreck!!!! Bad call on Nascars part and the #20 crew chief.

They made a judgement call, obviously not a great one, they hoped it would right itself, but that said, they are trying to win a championship, and some drivers are going all out right now. The tire issue is not what did him in, it was who hit him as he was getting out of the way

I agree they should have black flagged him. He was a great danger to all of the other racers on the track. He could have collected several other cars or even a majority of the field. And why didn't he take his own advice . "You cant stop in front of the entire field and not expect to get hit." If he would have been out of the way that wouldn't have happened.

Alot of you dont even know what your talking about. I have seen alot of other drivers do the same damn thing, stay out and cause wrecks. Was it a bad decision, yes, but nothing can be done about it now. Nascar should have never restarted the race to begin with, when they knew they couldnt finsih all 267 laps. Smoke was robbed of a win. But of course, it helped hendrick, as always!!
Go Smoke!!!!

I agreed with his crewcheif. But I also knew that after the rain delay he would not maintain his lead. You can't take a break in the middle of a race and keep your momentum.

his crew chief should have called him in! I'm sure Tony knew that tire was rubbing and gonna blow but in the end it is the crew people who call the shots and Nascar officials. He is my #1 driver but it was a bad call to let him stay out there.
