The announcers were obviously dejected when it became apparent that Greg Biffle had won the race. They wanted Bowyer to win so badly that he was all they talked about the last 10 laps. These announcers should be impartial and not show obvious emotions when the driver they want to win doesn't. I understand Ned Jarrett and Darrell Waltrip pulling for relatives to win the Daytona 500, but none of these announcers have ties to Bowyer that I know of.

As far as the result, the new rules adopted a few years ago does freeze the field. NASCAR determined Biffle crossed the line at an appropriate speed and thus he won. It is actually against the rules to pass the lead car on the caution lap if it is running what NASCAR determines as a "reasonable speed". I like Clint Bowyer, and he got more points than the other Chase drivers anyway so I was not bothered like some people were. When NASCAR put in those new rules, many things changed.

Anything to add to the drama to try to get ratings points. They should be unbiased but they are not. TV Announcers bend this way and that to suit the siuation of the driver and go by his popularity as to how much coverage they get.. Been this way for all year and years before---Look at how much they talk about Jr. hes not in the chase. hasnt won a race in a year and a half and so on-- To me the favoritism is sickening.

They were wanting him to win for 2 reasons: He came into the Chase as the underdog and because Kansas is his hometown track, so it would have been a better story than Biffle getting the win.

I do agree with Jimmie and Bowyer. They should have been first and 2nd. The rule is that you must maintain pace car speed under caution. Biffle was 40 miles/hour too slow. A few years ago, a race was about to end under caution with mark martin in the lead. Martin, thinking he was the automatic winner went ahead and pulled down pit road - and lst the race... and look at Robbie Gordon a few weeks back in the Busch series, he got spun under caution and even though the field was froze, NASCAR allowed 12 cars to pass him under the yellow flag because he was not maintaining pace car speed. Under NASCARs rules, Clint Bowyer won the race yesterday.

That being said - I'm happy Biffle won - had Bowyer won, he would have scroed 15 more points and would be in 2nd place. Instead, he is still in 3rd behind Jeff and Jimmie. Nothing against Bowyer, I just root for the Hendrick teams.

I'm in full agreement with GASDIVA-I can't understand why NASCAR can't follow it's own rules.
As far as the announcers ,Bowyer came into the chase as a underdog plus he was a home town boy so it would have been a bigger story ,had NASCAR followed the rules.

Because according to NASCAR rules, a car has to be able to maintain pit road speed. Biffle clearly did not and that allowed Boyer and Johnson to pass him, therefore making them the 1st and 2nd place cars. However, they still gave the victory to Biffle.

The funny thing is, I don't think NASCAR should've restarted the race therefore declaring Stewart the winner, and I am a huge Jimmie Johnson fan. Go figure!!!

It’s all about the drama. Biffle leading, Biffle leading, Biffle leading. It gets boring and repetitive. They need to talk up the 2nd place car make it sound like he has a chance, doesn’t matter who the drivers are. Otherwise we all get bored and go watch football.

Bowyer grew up in Emporia, KS about 90 miles away. This is his home track.
