Jeremy Mayfield is the only other potential I see here.

It is very obvious that Bill Davis is the only Toyota team with their crap together.

Do you think that either Waltrip or NAPA knew about the cheating? Do you wonder if NAPA knew or was involved with it, knowing it would be hard to get into this race being new car team?

i dont understand why NASCAR and alot of the fans are making such a fuss about something that is part of what makes stock car racing so entertaining. when a team can find a way to use the gray areas of the rules to their advantage then its called being smart.
now at the same time a blatent infraction (such as illegal fuel additives) should call for stiff penalties. but if its a gray area then the fault stands with NASCAR and if they want to stop it then they should clean up the gray areas. what do you think?

Did all three Evernham failures "tarnish Dodge"? Did Reiser "tarnish Ford"?

How about Jimmy Johnson's fraudulent victory in last year's 500? Did that "tarnish Chevy"?

Just curious.

After Johnson won the 500 last year, there were people calling for NASCAR to take the victory away from Johnson. I feel that we are going to hear that again this year

I am sorta new to NASCAR but...
A) Why doesn't NASCAR really release what exactly the teams were doing that was considered cheating? You hear about these "substances" and "holes being drilled" but they never really release whatever it is that the teams were doing.
B) Why don't they inspect the cars before to be sure the measurements and holes or whatever are all in proper shape and then again after the race to make sure nothing changed and the manifolds are clean and whatever else?

You think by now that teams would realize that it is next to impossible to get away with cheating in the Nextel Cup - what gives with all the teams getting busted before the first official race?

As a desperate attempt to gain a world wide audience, Nascar has forced Juan Pablo Montoya down our throats. Please let me know im not crazy when i say that Formula One racers are not Stock Car racers. They know how to set a fast lap, its what they do. When it comes to racing three wide with a guy riding your bumper, well thats a different story. That is a whole different type of racing. I once knew a man who could set a qualifying lap faster then anyone else at the track, but when the race started he couldn't handle being that close to that many cars and would always wreck or finish dead last. I predict that Juan Pablo Montoya will be the same way.

Of course drivers can't just go 190 MPH in a stock car. Modifications would have to be done, such as a roll cage and other safety features. Does anyone know what Nascar stands for, because i was sure the words stock car were in it? Whats stock about the cars those guys are racing today? I can't even tell the cars apart, they all look the same basically, except for a different grill. If they wanta slow these cars down i bet that stock car wouldn't go over 200. Oh and they would hafta run stock engines too. That would spar a nice little rivalry among the top three... and Toyota... PFFT!

I mean, come on. I pay good money for a race. You mean to tell me that they can't put some tread on the tires and race in the rain? F1 races in the rain, Champ Car races in the rain. The big three manufactures build cars that can be driven in the rain. I think that if you are a real good driver as Nascar claims to be, you should be able to race in the rain too. They do enough testing and Firestone, a division of bridgestone, make rain tires for other series. So what is up Nascar?
