As a desperate attempt to gain a world wide audience, Nascar has forced Juan Pablo Montoya down our throats. Please let me know im not crazy when i say that Formula One racers are not Stock Car racers. They know how to set a fast lap, its what they do. When it comes to racing three wide with a guy riding your bumper, well thats a different story. That is a whole different type of racing. I once knew a man who could set a qualifying lap faster then anyone else at the track, but when the race started he couldn't handle being that close to that many cars and would always wreck or finish dead last. I predict that Juan Pablo Montoya will be the same way.

I was thinking the same thing. Have you checked out his stats? Not to say I know much about that crap F-1 racing but checking out his stats he doesn't even seem that good for F-1. He has like 5 wins in 5 years. Kahne had 6 wins just last season! Now true his 7 pole positions in 2002 seems a little credible, I guess. He has had 95 starts and only 62 finishes. 95 starts is what 3 season in NASCAR and 62 finishes isn't even a full 2 seasons of finishing the race! Absolutely, dude! I am a fan of BOTH F1 and NASCAR since 5 years old.

Montoya was good at only one thing in F1: crashing & cursing. Well, he did have some good moves but the man was from a weaker generation of drivers.

And as with any sport, the champs have to have the guts in their blood to be the glorious ones. And that's can't happen overnight. Montoya is so freaking new to NASCAR and while (as an F1 fan) I am delighted by his presence at NASCAR, he will not be the shining star.

At least not for a a couple years to come.

All NASCAR marketing aside, Juan Pablo is the real deal. His inview style is refreshing in that he is willing to talk tech and discuss the dynamic differences between NASCAR, F1 and IRL, and seems to be having a great time! Yes, he's coming from a 'high tech, no passing' world, but with that he brings alot more than some of the other 'open wheel converts' this season.

Will NASCAR keep trying to shove the 'new cool thing' down it's fan's throat's and tell us how good it tastes?? Yes they will...is how they have sold us more than a few 'pretty faces' before, and until it quits working for them, they will keep doing the same thing.

Will He bring the 'world appeal' that NASCAR is hoping for, I couldn't care less! What he does bring is a load of talent and skill, that in (short, me thinks) time will translate to a top tier driver.

OK nascar is the most exciting form of racing, rubbing fenders, bump drafting and 30 lead changes per race among 14 drivers, this is a fact

nascar ISN'T the most skilled form of racing, i know this isn't going to make me very popular but its true, there are tracks where you only shift going in and out of the pits, and the rest are one up and one down shift for each turn, there is almost no such thing as under breaking, and setting up a pass means timing the draft with a strait away,

and if you think 3 wide at Dayton is tight you need to see a standing start at ANY f1 race

the fact is you cant stand him because hes not american, and refuse to believe hes a better driver than 95% of the field

Hey!!! you're forgetting Juan Pablo Montoya won the Indy 500 where yes he did race three wide at speeds over 200MPH. Tony Stewart raced in the Indy 500 and he never did well. Finally F1 drivers must race on the narrow streets of Monaco where skill and cool head decide the day. FI drivers don't pull over and wait for the rain too stop so I think he will be able to handle riding around in circles.

Kyle Busch! i won't be able to face what he does and what he receives away with... now and again i ask your self even as he is going to make stronger up and provides you up being a baby. each and every few races he crashes a automobile, slaps the wall, runs his mouth, or makes a dumb determination on the music that hurts the entire hendrick crew. i might want to like to work out Hendrick eliminate Kyle Busch and signal someone like JR. I dont recognize how lengthy they are going to provide Kyle... particular he has received some races, yet what percentage vehicles has he busted... He nevertheless has no longer realized that to win a race the lenghth of nascar races you cant pressure one hundred % each and every lap! i imagine because of this he knocks down the wall on each and every of the tracks. Montoya is my 2d determination. all and sundry thinks he's only going to be such an excellent driving force. in aspect of reality he's not driving a automobile that if there replaced into 0 gravity it might want to nevertheless follow the floor. he's driving a 3600lbs RACE automobile... the days of driving the mini jets have handed and he might want to to boot be a rookie. there is little or no he can take from his F1 days and use in a Nascar, they're 2 seperate worlds. shall we bear in mind the only race that he received, he had to spin out his teammate. Now i might want to wager that he might want to have received that race in the first position, although the way he did it made me imagine he replaced into no longer particular if he might want to or no longer... so there you're KY Busch Montoya

Juan Pablo Montoya will be as good as Chip Gannasi's Dodges let him be. He's a smart driver and can win at NASCAR as soon as he gets a few laps under his belt. I predict he'll win ROY and win at least 2 races this season. As for world audience, it's not JPM NASCAR wants to succeed, it's Toyota.

He has a tough learning curve ahead but I think Montoya can be a good driver and a threat to win races in Nascar.

Juan Pablo is one of the most underrated drivers out there..It's just going to take him sometime to get used to something that's a lot slower, and not open wheel. Once he gets used to it, look out, then everyone can whine because a another open wheel star has mastered Nascar. Makes you wonder why, no Nascar drivers have crossed if they think they're all that and a bag of chips? ie Jeffypoo or Minipoo

I think Juan Pablo Montoya will be a good stock car driver. Just becasue he comes from formula 1 doesn't mean he can't be a stock car driver. He shows he can drive a stock car.
