"Put a kerosene rag around your ankles so the ants won't climb up and eat that candy ***."--THAT was Dale Earnhart. The man who wore an open-faced helmut, who would put cars into walls to win and who never once changed his personality to suit the NASCAR P.C. police.
Those days are gone--will there ever be another Dale Earnhart?

A week before the organization was officially incorporated, NASCAR held its first race for modified stock cars on a 3.2 mile-course at Daytona Beach. In the 150-mile race that featured almost exclusively pre-war Fords, Red Byron edged Marshall Teague to become NASCAR's first champion. Stock car racing would become a tradition at Daytona, but pre-war Fords would not. By 1949 make and model had become NASCAR's dominant vehicle?

I say its about 75%. He ran good in his DUEL until that wheel-hub broke, and the Ganassi Dodge's are always fast @ Daytona, and Talladega... Remember that MEARS had the 2nd place car last year in the 500, driving Pablo's current car.

At least they have a Corvette as pace car - would have been a bummer to have the battery and beer bottle tossing start even before the race started. There are hundreds of thousands of really pissed off fans that want toyoyo out and they might get their way. Anyhow, toyoyo destroyed their image already by being the worst cheaters ever in their inagural debut - go figure.

Keep in mind his blown tire took him out of the front of the pack in th e shootout - he knows how to race ovals (a STRONG Indy 500 win in his first attempt). Give him a good car and he will USE it - he's a racer as much as a driver.

Let the Fans voice their opinion of What They want racing to be, not have Nascar decide what They think we want racing to be.
Let your voices be heard !! It is your sport you will be helping to shape..

Did anyone try the race view yesterday during the 150s? I have already purchased it about a week ago. Its pretty cool I guess I just wanted to know what everyone else thought of it. I am also thinking they will fine tune it for sunday. I guess the best thing about it is when the TV cuts out for all its advertisements, you can just watch it on your computer... any everyone knows the advertisements are getting out of control!!!

So any problems with it by anyone else? My only problem was it ran to slow in Internet Explorer, but in Firefox I couldnt hear the race scanner... so I opened Explorer for the scanner part and opened firefox for the raceview part... it ran good in Firefox...
