Ah, I'M VERY IMPATIENT!!!

This is the longest I can remember waiting to see a race in a long time.. I've got my radio out, ready to listen to it live... But instead I'm just hearing and occasional broadcaster say they are still drying the damn tracks and hoping to get it underway here shortly...

So what is everyone doing to pass the time?! We have no field work today, So I'm stuck in this office with really not much going on! I've been playin' ESPN Poker - Texas Hold Em' to pass the time but I don't know how much more of this I can take... I'm about to drive myself BACK TO SMOKING.

I caught the tail end of Tradin' Paint the other night (on Speed TV) & saw his arm in a sling & looked as if he had a cast on.

What happened?? This is one thing I missed!

"I’ve said it many times before. Teresa Earnhart was and is the business brains behind DEI. Dale Sr. admitted he would have had little without her. She comes from a racing family and knows the business. DEI will go on without Jr. and it will be successful."

The top two drivers in Busch Series standings are actually in the top 12 in Nextel Cup Standings.

Cup drivers have won 23 of the 25 races this season.

If I were in charge of NASCAR, they're will be no more Cup drivers doing double-duty, the number of Cup drivers in a Busch Series race will be six, and the number of races a Cup driver will run is eight.

They say there is a window of dry weather, so they think they can run the race. Yay. It's on ESPN2 right now. If they get the track dry, they can run in about half an hour...no pre-race inspection needed.

Go Jr.>>>>

I answered the favorite driver question but then I was thinking - here we all have a favorite driver to "hate". I cannot stand Jeff Gordon and I have a serious dislike of Jr. So who do you love to hate when the race is runnin'?

I hate Gordon because he is a crying whining baby and I think JR thinks he is as good as his Dad was but he isn't even close.

He won several races in the cup last year and this year he is lucky if he finishes in the top 30!

What do you think?

Good morning NASCAR Nation.....
I got up to check out the weather forecast for Brooklyn, Mich. where the race is supposed to be held today and this is what it's looking like........

TODAY: Periods of rain with a few thunderstorms likely. High around 65F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph. Rainfall may reach one inch. Localized flooding is possible.
THIS EVENING: Showers and thundershowers likely. Low 61F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%. Rainfall possibly over one inch.

It doesn't sound to great. I guess all we can do is hope and pray the weather clears up long enough to run the race. I can't take another day of being deprived of not being able to see some Nextel / Sprint Cup Racing.

Rain, Rain. Go Away..........!!!!

I mean, it's mostly the same drivers, right? And what ever happened to the trucks? That was pretty stupid.

It seems to me that once every blue moon you'll get an exciting NASCAR race (something any fan can get in to), like that really close one Ricky Craven won. So I am not a diehard.

It seems to me the playoff system was designed to attract fringe viewers like me; it also seems to alienate real fans whom NASCAR assumes will eat all their crap and grin no matter what.

Now, it also seems to me that NASCAR's plan to attract viewers like me is pretty stupid, because I, along with most of the rest of the American sports audience, will focus on football on Sunday.

So NASCAR crowns its champion using its incomprehensible points system (incomprehensible to a casual fan who doesn't know if a 100 point lead is small or huge), ending the season in as anticlimactic a manner possible. Since only the diehards care (in the face of the NFL competition), why punish the diehards?

The main question that I have is related to the Cup driving who move down into Busch. My opinion is that I think it ruins the Busch series and it also gives the Cup drivers an advantage to have raced on the track the day before.

Jr. fans are notorious for pelting their Bud cans on top of opposing drivers every chance they get (just ask Johnson and Gordon) and since he's not driving the Budweiser car, they won't be able to throw Bud cans anymore. What sponsor would be cool to see them throwing next year ?
I mean, this could be hilarious . . . . Goodyear - goodyear tires; Addias - tennis shoes; Sony - C.D.'s; Charmin - toilet paper!!!

He says when he leaves DEI he wants no ties whatsoever. "We have to let the 8 go, and we have to get something new."

We all know with Jr going to HMS he will have a lot of wins no matter what number is on his car!!!!

Dale would never have been as big a success as he was without Teresa. I don't see how any true fan of Dale Sr or Jr could spread these hateful slurs against Teresa. To me they are not true "fans" but just blowhards. Stop the hate! Support DEI in 2008 AND Dale Jr too (I know he sold out to HMS but we can still forgive him)
