Dale would never have been as big a success as he was without Teresa. I don't see how any true fan of Dale Sr or Jr could spread these hateful slurs against Teresa. To me they are not true "fans" but just blowhards. Stop the hate! Support DEI in 2008 AND Dale Jr too (I know he sold out to HMS but we can still forgive him)

Those who say teresa doesn't care either aren't Earnhardt fans from way back or just swallow the BS everybody says about her-"Teresa was daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Hal Houston of Hickory, N.C. and the niece of Tommy Houston a seasoned driver on the Grand National circuit. At 16 Teresa's father introduced her and Dale but they didn't begin to date until she was 19 and a student at Central Piedmont College in Charlotte. As the seasons began to change, so did Dale's life. In November of 82 Dale and Teresa married. She took on the role of mother seeing to Kelley and Dale Jr's well being. She helped Dale in many ways, from handling business affairs to handing tools to him in the shop. She has done her share of driving as well. When Dale was running late model sportsman cars she would drive the truck so Dale could sleep. She would spend nights in the shop, handing tools and holding timing lights, anything that was helpful. The combination of Dale's ability to drive and Teresa's good business s

has launched them into one of the most successful business ventures, Dale Earnhardt Inc.

In 1988 Taylor was born. A story Dale tells about that day is very characteristic of Teresa's energy and commitment to family. It was the height of the holiday season and at the lake house she was in full swing, wrapping presents and preparing the house for Christmas. Her visit to the doctor indicated she was in light labor and once they received the word, Teresa and Dale returned to the lake house for Teresa to put the finishing touches on their home for the holidays. Later in the afternoon Taylor was welcomed into the world. Dec 22 Dale and Teresa brought Taylor home. It wasn't long before Teresa was in full swing again. She has worked tirelessly, giving 110%.

Dale credits his success to Teresa's efforts. She has been with Dale through the changes. From Osterland in the early 80's to his reign as NASCAR's finest in the 90's. She has delicately balanced family, her career, Dales career, th

Dale and Teresa founded the company in 1980. No mention of Junior having anything to do with it!

They bash Teresa cause they won't admit that just maybe Jr could be the problem there at DEI

Because they don't have anything better to do, somewhat like the trolls.
I don't agree with you about the success without Teresa because I believe that Dale Sr would have made it with or without any help because he was that great.
Dale Jr is a good driver, but not as good as his dad was. Of course there were bad feelings between Jr and Teresa. The majority of the time, when there are step-kids or step-parents involved, there will be issues. Some can be worked out and some can not. This does not mean that it is any ones fault, just that there is not as much emotion to deal with, when it is not your biological child. Sad but true.
People tend to forget the love that Dale Sr and Teresa had for each other and it has been a rough road for her having to continue running a business and dealing with his and their kids and still have a grieving process.
REMEMBER folks, everyone has feelings and unless you have walked in their shoes, give them a break.

Teresa has brought all of this on herself. She is being greedy instead of logical. She isn't thinking about her late husband and what he would have wanted. All she is thinking about is making money off of Jr. The truth must hurt, because ever since Jr. announced that he was leaving DEI she is NOW showing up at some of the races.
Gotta make her "beauty pageant" appearance.

I don't hate Teresa, I just think she is being spiteful to Jr. and is going to stick it to him the best way she knows how. She doesn't even care about the fans!!! All she wants is the revenues from the sales. She is just not making good business decisions. I really don't think she knows what she is doing.

Jr. didn't sell out!!!! He was forced out!! He couldn't sneeze without getting the OK from Teresa. And Teresa can't take credit for Jr's success, only he can do that. I will not support DEI the company, but I do like Martin Truex, Jr. and will continue to route for him when I'm not routing for my favorite driver--Kasey Kahne!!!!

Lets see, since she has taken ove the reigns at DEI; Shes tried publically humilating her driver's to boost performance (Jr, Park, Michael), she's allowed key people to slip away to other teams, she actually moved Richie Gilmore (head engine builder) to a desk job for a while, seems she'd rather keep Sr's name alive through maketing rather than fielding competitive cars or so it would appear...I can't imagine why.

I agree she played a big part in building DEI on a marketing scale, but she absolutley has no clue (and has been showing this fact for sometime) on how to run a race team. Good example, instead of hiring some former music exec to manage the teams, she could have hired someone who actually understands cars. Andy Petree has been there, done that. He would have been a great pic. But hey, this guy worked for a record label, he'll make them a load of cash right?

Junior's a sellout and Theresa is a saintly buisnesswoman? I'd like some of whatever your having please. No I won't support DEI in 2008. Theresa has left all her drivers with a slap in the face simply by not supporting them at the track. Add the issues with Junior and the number 8 and She deserves atleast half of the slurs simply based on her attitude and actions towards her drivers. As for Junior selling out.. how long do you think he should have stayed with a company where he was not wanted and couldnt get the cars he needed to win? Why is going to HMS a sell out? He has gone where there is the best chance for him to win consistently and where he will have less chance of his car blowing up every week.

The thing that stinks is that Sr. formed DEI for Jr. Given that, I'm not sure why he left control of it to Teresa.
It's sad to see the organization degenerate from one of the tops in NASCAR to a shell of its former self. One reason Jr.'s 2007 has been a trainwreck has been the equipment.
I know absoltely nothing about the woman. She's never out there with her side of the story. I can only go by what I see out on the track and it doesn't paint a pretty picture.

No matter what the news articles say, nobody knows the relationship between Jr and Theresa better than Jr and Theresa. Jr said it wasn't good and never has been. We haven't heard from her. She remains in the background letting others deal with the well being of her stepson. Get it? If she cared she would not hire someone to deal with her son. Just because her dad raced doesn't make her a marketing guru. In one of the stories you provided it said she took over the business after Sr died. It also stated that Dale Jr. gave DEI their first win. Dale has given them the most wins. DEI fans are Earnhardt fans. Not Theresa fans. DEI is respected by Jr's fan as being his and the other Earnhardt kids inheritance. Only thing is she can't let go. Jr want to win. DEI ain't cutting it. He made an offer to keep her involved with DEI but he just wanted to manage it. He didn't want to invest money in it and her spend it foolishly. That is the reason he is leaving. Like it has been said before Dale Jr is the money man of DEI. He draws more money to Nascar period than any other driver. He sells more die casts, tickets, and memorabilia. Jr wants progress. Theresa isn't making it happen. Jr isn't the only one that feels that way. Tony Eury Sr left also so it must be more than just Jr.

You are a Busch fan right?
