What are the rules of NASCAR racing? How do the point system works. I see that someone has -300 next to there name. What does that mean? Help me out. I'm clueless

That means that they are 300 points down from the person in 1st place, not -300.

For example, Jeff Gordon may have 45 points and then Dale jr. -100. This means he has 350 points...he's 100 points under Jeff.

Did that help?

That means the points out of first place...or if they are talking about qualifying for The Chase (championship), how many points a driver is from securing the final spot in the upcoming "playoff" to determine a season champion.
