and drug down pit road, why didn't he get penalized? That thing really went flying off to the side and could have seriously hurt a crew member. If it had been Jimmie or Jeff everyone would have been crying foul. Just curious, it seems like that should have been some sort of violation. GO JIMMIE, YOUR BACK TO BACK CHAMP!!!!

First off this has nothing to do with the perceived difficulty of racing so lets not bring that into it.

F1 drivers are the best of the best. People from all around the world, from every country in the world aspiring to get into it. That is pretty much every road racers dream. The fact of the matter is that more people take part in racing in the UK(with a population of 60million) than in the whole of the US (population of 300million). Now think about this, there are as many racers again taking part in Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Japan, South America, Eastern Europe, Finland(small population but its a religion over there), pretty much every country in the world.

It is the very best of those that make it into F1. Those who won championships in Karting, formula renault, F3, F3000, GP2, Touring cars, etc.

What makes people here think the average NASCAR driver is better than the average F1 driver. There are so many more trying to get into F1 that the standard must be higher

I really picked up on this during the Busch race, half of the cautions were because of these guys in the wall!
Truck seires: Villeneuve 36th Wall
Busch: Sam Hornish Jr. 38th DNF
Dario Franchitti 39th DNF Tire
Patrick Carpentier 42nd DNF
Cup: Sam Hornish Jr. 37th Wall
Patrick Carpentier 40th
The only bright stop for these guys was WP Montoya 15th in the cup race!
These men were the best it their former series. The numbers speak for themselves. Just because they were great in open wheel doesn't mean they are going to make it here!
On the other hand I think any Nascar great would have just as hard a time moving to open wheel, with the exception of Tony Stewert! A. J. Foyt was able to do it years ago!

I have been a life long NFL football fan. But with all of the "Spygate" cheating and other atrocities that mar the game, I have begun to broaden my horizons to other sports. So I am curious. How are NASCAR points distributed? What about bonus points? Which driver should I get behind? Whom should I avoid?

Thanks for your help.

When my son younger he liked Jeff Gordon...Don't know why I think it was just for his car...At any rate, we bought him one of those life size, stand up, store advertising cutouts. Now that he is a little older thankfuly he is no longer his favorite driver...Now we are wanting to have a little fun with ole "BIG DADDY" Jeff. Does anybody have any suggestions?

First of all can someone explain the team concept of Nextel Cup racing.
I understand that there are owners and teams such as Hendrick Motor Sports. I also understand that Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson are teammates. I would imagine that they have other teammates.
What I am having trouble understanding is how there can be teams when it is an individual sport and there is a season points champion. Doesn't this ever cause conflict?
Also, considering that Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon finished at 1 & 2 in points and are at the top, are there any other famous teammates in the past of note?
Mostly though, I just have trouble understanding the point of a team in an individual sport.

I rewinded the tape of Jr's pit road entrance and it showed the aerial view of what happened to Jr. I'll admit Jr ran off the pit road entrance for what ever reason. That didn't cause his wreck at pit road entrance.

Scott Riggs (10 car) was in front of Kyle Busch going into pit road. Kyle had to speed up and also used more room trying to get around Riggs just to hit Jr.

Now if Kyle had a problem with getting booted from Hendrick's team should he take it out on Jr? That was Hendrick's choice to boot shrub's little punk self.

To intentionally spin someone on the entrance of pit road is a little uncalled for. I would say actions detrimental to the sport. I know if I could get within 10 feet of him I'd spin him around without a car.

Should he get fined?
