Dont get me wrong, i am the biggest nascar fan in the world , just get tired of hearing jimmy this jeff that jimmy this rick hendrick that jimmy rick jimmy rick please get to next season and hope for come serious changes

I guess this is why they say it's lonely at the top. I have to guess, because I don't know what it's like, I imagine the air is a bit rarified.
This year it certainly was the Hendrick cup, but I believe next yr will be much more competitive. Hendrick got the jump on the "car", did a lot more research and development than most teams, and cashed in big, hence, the runaway style of competition on their part. Roush, on the other hand, according to Robbie Reiser ( http://www.nascar.com/2007/news/headlines/cup/11/19/mkenseth.momentum.chase/index.html ), did little to "tweak" the C.O.T. and paid dearly in those races.
Toward the end of the year, however, when some of the other teams started to find what they could and couldn't do with these cars to improve their performance, it became more competitive, but by that time, it really was a two horse race, with the remote chance of a couple of longshots POSSIBLY sneaking in.
I look for a much more competitive field next year as the less funded teams get to concentrate their efforts on just one chassis style.

I didn't get tired of hearing about Jimmie this or Jimmie that or Jeff this or Jeff that. I am a fan of both drivers. If Stewart or Jr would have been winning all season or whoever your driver is, would you feel the same way. I do wish they would do away with the chase & bring back old point system.

You forgot Jeff this and Steve that...Hendrick Cup, it seems that way. But rememeber we will be hearing Dale Jr this and Tony Jr that next yr... Theres alot of changes that need to be done.. Not sure if Nascar is going to do anything about this chase crap...I think it would be nice if drivers could bump drivers out of the chase, say the 14th guy gets hot wins 2or 3 races, why can't he bump out 11th or 12th guy out.. I've never been a fan of the chase and probably never will.. But I'm looking forward to 2008...

Jimmie this. Rick Hendrick that. Jeff Gordon this. Steve Latarte that. Dale Earnhardt Jr. this. Chad Knaus that.
You will hear TWICE as much next year about Hendrick with Jr. joining the team especially when he wins.

Me. I hope my mental attitude over the Jimmie/Jeff/Rick season will mellow and I'll be ready for racing at Daytona. Right now, though, I don't care if I ever see another race.

You are not a true fan of NASCAR if you can be happy the chase is over or if you can be so bitchy about winning drivers. Why can't you just be happy for any winning driver, no matter who they are? And what changes are you talking about? Isn't it enough that all the teams are trying to get accustomed to the COT?

I agree. I wish they'd do a few things to make the season better (IMO):
1. shorten most of the races to 400 miles, with only a few 500 mile events (but keep the Coke 600 b/c of tradition)
2. dump the stupid chase and go back to the old way
3. eliminate the lucky dog
4. lose the wing of the back of the COT and go with a traditional blade-type spoiler
5. add a couple more short tracks to the schedule

The chase for Hendrick Cup. I like that. It would sort of be like how they named the superbowl trophy after Vince Lombardi. Oh, and don't forget Chad this and Chad that.

im really sick of it, almost the whole season but as soon as people like us start speaking up, i dont care how big a fan you are, people will start calling you "not a true race fan" or not a "real fan" or some shyt like that. probably mostly Yahoo Answers people though.
