hmmmm lets see. I'm in religion alot... Actually I want it to be my minor in college.. (additional info that you might want to know before making assumptions) Okay.. Jehovah Witnesses? actually i have about 4 questions..

-What are their major beliefs?
-Would you consider them hypocritical?
-Why are they strict about personal involvements{Ex. They would allow their children go out with a non-Jehovah Witness}but they say It doesn't really matter(which goes back to being hypocritical)

Please don't send me some bullshit websites.. I already researched some crap that made no sense at all. I want other people's perspectives and I'm hoping you guys can help me out

-Thanks,
LaTivia

lately I have heard a lot of the term "militant" atheist. It seems that if atheists (such as Dawkins, Harris, Hitchens) speak up, we're "militant" (not withstanding the fact that it's the religious nuts strapping on the bomb vests). Is this just the latest attempt (ala insisting Hitler was an atheist) by Christians to smear us?

I really love God, and I thank Him for the Son and the Holy Spirit. I mean The spirit guides me throughout day. Im trying to go to another level with God. But when I go to church and its a time when i feel like dancing or running. i get a lil embarrased. I feel unworthy for any blessings if i dont praise him for it. I know he will forgive me and work with me. But i just want to hear other people testimony with problems like these.

I have heard atheists and hardcore evolutionists argue that one of the reasons humans are drawn to believe in a higher power is because it offers some form of evolutionary advantage. What do you think? What evolutionary advantages does it provide?

Other than fuzzy and obscure metaphors, nowhere in the Bible can we find a single verse that mentions either quantum mechanics, chemistry, microbiology, electricity, aeronautics, telecommunications, let alone cars, detergent or aspirins, etc...so much for the ultimate "revelation"...

And don't tell me the Bible is purposefully written as a metaphor, since it explains many other stuff outright without details, such as what can be eaten or what's to be worn (mixed fibers, anyone?)

And if you say that the bible focuses on spiritual matters, then why would anyone want to include it in the school syllabus?

Last time I asked I got "the circle of the earth" passage. But 1, in context it seems to mean round like a coin, and 2, people have supposed the earth was a sphere for hundreds of years by then.

As we all know, the south in the US is in severe drought conditions. The Governor of Georgia is asking folks to join him and a group of ministers to pray for rain. They are going to hold a public prayer today. An atheist commented that people will look on at this and think that the citizens of Georgia are "dumb," and is gathering protestors to be there during this prayer. No one is saying that science or divine intervention is better, all ideas are welcomed..why the protesting? So....what are your thoughts R&S crew?

My youth group is running a retreat and I am in charge of coming up with skit ideas. I have everything I need except for bible verses to base the skits off of. i.e a bible verse that says good will prevail over evil. So, if you can think of any bible verses that could be used to base a skit off of, please tell me.

Do most of you only experience it on YA because people are braver when they can be anonymous behind their computer screens? Or do you ever actually have it spoken to your face?

If you don't believe in God, that is fine I respect your right not too and the right to voice why not. But in return do you respect others beliefs or would you go against our founding fathers and abolish anything you do not agree with? And why or why not?

Serious answers get a thumbs up if I agree with you or not, others thumbs down
