Last time I asked I got "the circle of the earth" passage. But 1, in context it seems to mean round like a coin, and 2, people have supposed the earth was a sphere for hundreds of years by then.

Prophecy and its fulfillment

Take into consideration the Bible as a Whole. You see, it was written over a period of 2500 years buy over 30 different writers and the whole context of the Bible all eludes to the same facts and summations. How could it have been "conspired"?

Also, some parts were not written by Prophets in the sense of the word, but by Average every day Joe. Nehemiah was a wine server to a King that had taken over Isreal. Esther's records were of the same flavor being that she was a simple woman also taken captive at a different era and her record is actually a historical recorded by a whole different culture. David became King of Israel but was a sheep boy. Some of them were Vine tenders, another sheep herder and then the of course were the fisherman, a tax collector and a lawyer.

As far as a particular "passage"? I have always liked II Peter 1:16-21. it happens to be one of the verses that helped me to realize The Truth.

Hope that helps and God Bless!

Actually the bible talks about the earth being flat.

"take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it (Job 38:12-13)

"The devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them"
(Matthew 4:1-12)

The earth takes shape like clay under a seal." (Job 38:14)

The visions of my head as I lay in bed were these: I saw, and behold, a tree in the midst of the earth; and its height was great. The tree grew and became strong, and its top reached to heaven, and it was visible to the end of the whole earth. (Daniel 4:10-11)

But I think if it was written totally by God it would not contradict itself so much. For example it starts off with 2 accounts of creation, not even 2 chapters apart!

How about this. In describing what animals are fit to eat the bible names 4 animals that have only 1 of 2 signs. One of those, the pig, is the only animal named that has completely split hooves but is not a ruminant (chews its cud). In the 3500 years since, no animal found anywhere in the world has completely split hooves and is not a ruminant except for pigs, in all their varieties. Remember, the bible doesn't differentiate species in the same manner as science.

This is a pretty accurate and bold statement if made by a man who lived his entire life in the deserts of the middle east.

Another....same part of the bible....when fish (water breathers) that are fit to eat....it says that if it has fins and scales it is fit. However, if it has fins and no scales or no fins and no scales it is not fit. It never mentions the combination of scales and no fins. To this day, no species of water breathing sea life has been found that has scales and no fins.

1. Please distinguish between Bible and scripture.
Especially in USA presently; that difference is dividing 'Christianity'; to God's disgust!!!
2. According to scripture, itis given by God (not man). (Just because man may have physically 'written' it, does not mean man thought of it).
3. Genesis; especially chapters 1-11; God founded things there that even 'atheists and agnostics' may call 'common sense'. (That section is part of why I presently do not consider Genesis scriptural 'old testament').

Of course not. The Bible was thought of by men. That has been standard Christian doctrine for 2000 years. This crap about God writing the Bible isn't even a Christian doctrine - it would have been considered heresy in the ancient and Medieval Church.

The Bible states at 2 Timothy 3:16 "ALL Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness"

Who wants to be disciplined? Who wants to be reproved? (Why would humans write that, if that was so?) Who could benefit from the bible and why? Verse 17 says "that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."

Also the bible states the scientific fact of the rain and cloud cycle before humans did.

The whole Bible was thought of by God. I'm not sure what the question is here.
