Personally, I prefer facts. I feel there is a certain comfort that comes with knowing I can prove a fact wrong (assuming I'm smart enough), whereas with faith, I can only disagree with it, but never completely disprove it. That feels dangerous to me.

i have heard answers like god was always here but if you can believe that why is it so hard to believe that the universe was always here? or god made himself which doesn't make sense because if you don't exist you cant make anything especially not yourself.
so seriously give me your best answer?

Do you think you can prove that the tooth fairy does not exist?
Maybe The point will come to the surface that YOU CAN NOT PROOVE A NEGATIVE FACT. If you go to a gambling table prepared to prove the tooth fairy does not exist. You will come home BROKE.
Not that you could prove the existence of same either.
I hope I did not offend any of you non believers in the tooth fairy.

I guess that I will keep any debate I may have for subjects like God or no God to blogs where people think first with their head then with there heart. To think first with your heart will generate an emotional response. When the question was clearly wanting a response from the head first.

It is a very old philosophical dispute to say that to bet on a negative fact is a fools errand. This thought is applied to the concept of Atheism as an Atheist is one who denies the existence of God.

This question is oriented towards Christians, I would like to have some sort of explanation on their part.

It is not only a matter that they do not have the correct organization of neurons in their brains, but also that they lack vocal cords capable of replicating human speech. Even if we were to have such vocal cords, they lack the oral structure that we depend upon to formulate words.

Do you believe it is possible for a donkey to speak? If you do believe it to be possible, please explain how.

consciousness? With that consciousness, you inherited awareness of time passing, but for what reason is this given?

What is a life without meaning, and what is the meaning and purpose of existence?

Why are you feeling the internal conflict and anxiety, when you are judgmental and when you are playing "god"? - (Actually there are 6 billion others, all unconsciously playing God.)

How much pain are you going to endure before you see what all this means?

What say you all?

Certainly people do sin today, but much is right today, which deserves discussion

Jesus' had ethics and sacrificed. I see that trait in many people in U.S. today. Many men and women work 2 and even 3 jobs to support their family. At work women now dress professionally. This was not true in the late 1960s to the mid-1970s, when mini-skirts and even micro-minis. Young men (and older) today with short hair, and long shorts look like MEN, which follows what the Bible advocates.

College tutition costs are tremendous; back in my day it was a fraction of today's costs. But people are meeting this difficult challenge. We have gallant soldiers making a tremendous sacrifice for Bush's flawed fiasco in Iraq. They are volunteering for it.

The exceptions in a way show there are standards. Barry Bonds' steroids use completely tainted his record. Michael Vick and Bill Belichick are suffering strong punishment for misconduct. Thoughts for working into sermon would be appreciated.

I t seemed like in the late 80s and in the 90s many churches started preaching that if you do everything right you will be rewarded and no harm with come to you if you just have faith and believe. It was like almost like tir fot a tat if you do this you will get that and sadly I believed this devilish doctrine.

Alot of times when I go through trials I am like this should not happen to be I have done everything right and serve God or I say this trial is getting freaken old cant we move on to somthing better?

My question is how do I get out of the prosperity trap and start thinking godly and Christ like about things?

a god =/= the christian god. Most of the arguments I've heard just pertain to the Christian God, not just any god. Most of them have to do with the all powerful/all knowing/all good argument. But, theoretically, couldn't there be a god that just one day decided to create the Earth and did a sloppy job of it, then left and never returned?

It's something I've been praying for a very long time. I refuse to get married, but love to be single and perhaps? dedicate myself to God. What are the signs? I pray hard.

I'll go with:

Mein Kampf
Anything by Danielle Steele
That horrible The Secret book
Anything Anne Coulter wrote
Bill O'Reilly, not his books, him.

By the way, I'm just kidding, I'm against burning books because that's STUPID.
(I'm not taking back what I said about O'Reilly.)
Also, I didn't put the Bible on my list because even though it is subpar mythology, it is still valuable in a historical, unrealistic sort of way.
