It is sad, because even though I'm not religious, I get a sense of what Jesus (or any religious leader) means to you guys. It's bad to because it makes all nonreligious people seem militant about it. I was more apt to argue about these things when I was younger, but now I've adapted a live and let live/different strokes attitude about it all.

Luke 6:45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil man out of his evil produces evil; for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks...
You are looking at the effect, but what caused such vinegar?!? Anger is simply a by product of pain. What is it that has hurt someone so badly that would cause them to say such things?
When a person is WITHIN a group, they have a different perspective than someone looking IN on it from the outside. Personally, I left christiandom almost 20yrs ago and have seen ALOT of 'bad' behavior of Christians to 'outsiders'. Which was ONE of the reasons I left.
1 Cor 5:12 For what have I do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. Drive out the wicked person from among you.
Besides, even 'Jesus' said that a person can deny him. Mat 12:32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
Also from personal experience, many Christians really don't read their bibles, for if the DID they wouldn't be the SELF righteous prigs they show themselves to be.
If a person SAYS that they are a Christian, then they are and will be judged both by man and by god as such.
Deut 23:21-23 If you make a vow to the LORD your God, do not be slow to pay it, for the LORD your God will certainly demand it of you and you will be guilty of sin. But if you refrain from making a vow, you will not be guilty. Whatever your lips utter you must be sure to do, because you made your vow freely to the LORD your God with your own mouth.

Yes. I think that disagreeing with a person's opinions does not entitle the answerer to be antagonistic and disrespectful. There are better ways to debate about religious beliefs. Unfortunately, a lot of trolls are attracted to this section. Many people are very passionate about their religious beliefs and it isn't difficult to insult others if that is the answerer's intent. I would be much better if more answerers were at least civil in their responses.

Yes, I do. Not only is it sad, it is also disrespectful, malicious, vindictive, highly immature, and intended to inflame and incite.
Do not allow yourself to be drawn from your committment to Jesus, or to be intimitaded into "stifling the spirit".
As another poster stated, (sorry I do not recall your name), they will be back tomorrow telling us how intelligent they are, forgetting that they have already proven otherwise.
They are simply show the hate that many of them accuse Christians of having, although I have never called a single one of them a derogatory name, or attacked any belief just because it is not one I hold.......

You know, people have been talking bad about Jesus for over 2000 years. That shouldn't surprise you. Jesus told us that they would hate us, because they hated Him. Remember, that those who aren't children of God are being deceived by the devil. Satan will do anything to discredit Jesus to turn people away from Him. People who speak evil of the Lord are just deceived and ignorant of the truth. That's why we are commanded to pray for those who persecute us.

it's sad when people generalise about groups of people. It's sad when people show hatred in the name of a peaceful profit. It's sad when people pretend to know things they obviously don't have the intelligence to comprehend. It's sad to see how ffar off kilter things get. but we must keep on keeping on.

As Bertrand Russel said, Jesus believed in a place where people were sent for eternity (which means forever, with no release) to be punished for finite crimes.
I have that horrible that someone would believe, let alone support and embrace such a concept, as Jesus did. So based on that, I have no problem saying that Jesus was immoral to support such a punishment system.
That being said, Jesus is probably the best character in the New Testament. Paul is a racist, women-hating moron and the Apostles are moronic. By comparison, Jesus is pretty good for a Bronze-Age philosopher.

Yes.... but they like the darkness and like the men that nailed Jesus on the cross they don't know what they are doing.
They will be accountable for their actions someday... Christians can just do our best and try to show them what truth is and the path to salvation.
God Bless

Why? Jesus died a VERY long time ago, it's not as if Jesus can hear us; his body, his life has long since decomposed and NO he's not coming back to prove your existence was meaningful, and all the stuff you didn't do, but wanted to, you can NOW do in heaven since you were so obedient for so long.

Yes , they only do it because they don't know any better . If they did they would be begging for forgiveness .One day they will regret any words they said against the one and only Lord and God .
