Ok my parents were born in India so they are hindu's, and i was born in america, and am also a Hindu, but because i was bought up in the states, and have only visited India a few times, i know practically NOTHING about Hinduism! I cant even speak the language! Does that mean I'm NOT a hindu? Then what AM i? I believe in God. i know he exists. But the thing is i am kind of going through a tough time at the moment, and seeing as i am only 12, i have little power over any of it. So i am turning to faith and prayer to help me through this. But i dotn really know about the religion or how i am supposed to pray. We have a gods shrine in our den and i go to it and pray, or i jsut pray anywhere, but am i supposed to say or do anything specific? Its really confusing for me. Plus i feel liek i have no culture or anything. I'm not exactly american, but i know nothign about India! What do i do?

You know, a couple of months ago I thought... Gosh, I think I'll just start reminding people of what Jesus actually taught, and over time I thought... many would come to appreciate the Sermon on the Mount and the Original Gospel (you know "Mercy, Not Sacrifice," and "forgive others and God will forgive you." and so on.

But alas, nothing has changed... people just seem to insist that Paul's gospel of sacrifice for sin is better than anything Jesus could have preached on his own.

Well, out of despiration, I just want to ask... is there ANYONE out there who has enought respect for what Jesus taught to hold his Sermon on the Mount and his Kingdom Gospel above the doctrines that came AFTER Jesus was so unjustly killed?

Is there anyone out there???

Have you ever considered the possibility that your faith may be misplaced? Think about it: there are over 300 different religions in the world; each claiming it is the only true religion. How do you know that you picked the correct one? Is it not possible and, quite likely there isn’t a correct one?

I God has a broken, old, and rusty green toyota van but Satan has the nice F50 red car with a portal DVD player and both God and Satan has their cars on the street. If they both offer you a ride, would you ride the car with God or Satan?

For the Atheist, please just humor me and just answer the question. If you don't believe in God and/or Satan, than just don't answer if you are going to answer with rude remarks.

I don't want God to take away my emotions. I've showed him through my actions in the past that I don't like my thoughts and feelings altered. Why does God continue to do this?

Do not answer this question if you are not a Christian.

That slogan only proposes seperation of Americans from the rest of the world. It creates a feeling of superiority that encourages hate, and ignorance.

It should be changed to "God bless all humanity".

Or is it immoral to repress a child's nontraditional gender identity for the sake of conformity?

Sorry, I know this isn't a question about "god" or "religion" or "spirituality" per se, but it's a question that involved morality and I figured this section deals as much with morality as the Philosophy section or even the Parenting sections.

could that be because christians care so little about others just like everybody else?
why is it better praying and then forget/ignoring about other´s people sufferings than just forgetting/ignoring??

at the end the result in both cases is the same the ones suffering keep on suffering and no one has really done anything to help them.

I believe in nature first of all. And the elements (wind water earth and fire). But I don't believe in any gods or godess. I believein spirits. Some are stronger than others. I believe in spirit guys and that we all have light or dark in us. I believe that our spirits all have different paths. So what am I?

So my last question wasn't received how i wanted it to be by the Atheist Community

Generally Atheists believe in science rather than religion/god

yes

however science has not proved how things were created
Evolution yes.

But are atheists open to the possiblity of we (earth) being inside of the universe which is inside of perhaps some persons home? therefore that person being sort of like a god, that might smash our universe too bits by accident or on purpose?

Like how humans are to ants in their anthills

is it so improbably to not think that that could exist?
that we are part of an even bigger world

Im not in the least bit saying that there is a god who controls our every whim and floods the world because that is prepostrous I just want to know if atheists are open to possibilities besides our universe solamente?

Is it because we have all had to defend our beliefs, our values at one time or another? Is this the one thing we all have in common? Is it possible to approach eachother from that understanding that we all defend what is ours and not seek to smash or take away what belongs to another? I have a hard time remembering this. Do you?
