If R&S were split into subcats of Atheism and Christianity, how long would you "restrain yourself?"?

Be honest! Are any of us really here to preach to the converted?

I couldn't restrain myself at all. I only come here for the "Religious folks vs. Atheists" debate. I don't think atheists would last very long in an "atheist" section, but I think some of the Christians are sincere when they say they want us gone. They don't want to face the fact that there are some people who don't agree with them, and they certainly don't want to read something that will get them questioning their faith.

I personally think that these columns are for everyone and it is interesting to have different beliefs. The problem is when some people start to call each other idiots and brain washed and with all kind of other rude names, it is not nice anymore. I believe that those people who bad mouth people who think differently than them should rather write blogs about their hatred so that people are not subjected to their hate here in this open discussion column.

I rather have different beliefs here strolling peacefully from question to question rather than have " Only Buddhists allowed" etc. When we "restrain ourselves" we should do it the way that we do not do evil things to each other.

OK, it might be irritation to you when some one tells you : Jesus loves you", but it shows character when you realize that it is not an insult toward you and your intelligence.

We all need to be careful with our words because there is no sound. We do not know when person is kidding unless you start to know some characters. We should be able to ask difficult questions without cursing or name calling people.

I never try to restrain myself. If I want to run naked on the beach, I will do it. I started out trying to preach to the Christians about how wrong they are about Witches, and although a few have sent some conciliatory attempts to communicate, my efforts have largely been in vain.

But, on the bright side, THEIR attempts to convert ME have been totally useless, so off to the beach I go!!!!!

I wouldn't go to the Christian section unless somebody provoked atheists there. I have no desire to convert anybody. One of my main reasons for coming here months ago was to mingle with atheists, as I had only met one person who had declared himself an atheist before this year.

Athiests about 1-2 seconds, Christians, if we weren't supposed to go on, probably about 1-2 mins

Probably about 2 minutes. In those 2 minutes before I visited the Christian section, I'd post a question exhorting all my fellow atheists to join me.

It would be so BORING without the atheists. I mean, you guys are the ones with all the jokes and laughter. None of the Christians are that funny.

I've come for the blind sheep of this world, for the well have no need of a doctor, and the atheist no need of a psychiatrist. I'm not in need of a support group, I'm in need of more rational people voting sanely.

Personally, I'd welcome the separation. There's nothing to be gained from the opposing sides going at it nonstop. No one is going to change their views by listening to barbs being hurled at each other. This is not conducive to anyone learning anything.
