What I mean to say is, one keeps the other in check. If either grew to powerful they would consume the other and upset some kind of balance...
Does this make any sense?
Sorry kinda thinking out loud.

... but have not been abandoned by any Christian community?

Please cite a source demonstrating that the belief was Christian in origin and not based on observations of the natural world that were attached to Christianity (like a geocentric universe), and please cite the source demonstrating that the belief has been proven false.

On every page of the bible God either himself kills people or orders the execution of people. He flooded the whole earth, all the animals, women, and babies. He killed the firstborn of Egypt. He ordered that two children be killed for making fun of a prophet. He killed Jobs family just to prove to Satan that he is right.

Lot offers his two virgin daughters to the soddomites, as if they are nothing but a peice of meat.

People get stoned to death for not keeping the Sabbath

The list goes on. How can one learn any morality from this? Would you offer your daughters to be fked by a whole town?
Would you stone someone to death for sinning?
Would you kill innocent babies?
Would you kill a person's innocent family just to prove a point?

Why do the Jesus-folk think it's alright to try and decide what people can and can't talk about?

Anyone notice that any question/answer that they don't agree with automatically gets reported as abuse? That they love to burn books? That they want the right to edit films for content THEY object to?

Looking at the moral track record of these people, what with all the wars, inquisitions, torture, the wanton destruction of entire cultures, languages, etc, exactly what quallifies THEM to set the standards for everyone else?

If He hears His people crying for the end to come, as many are, do you think He'll be like "uggggggghhhhhh....fine. Jesus...it's show time...tell everybody to get in position and enter stage left!"??

Ok...so maybe not so theatrically dramatic....but you know what I mean...will God say "they're ready, the time is now"?

We weren't created out of nothing, we were created from parts of our mother and father, and when we die we aren't nothing, we are food for the bugs, and dirt! But the real question is Where does the energy that makes us run go? Is it a spirit? If so what does a spirit consist of? Obviously its not just your attitude or personality because that changes if you get damage to the brain, and if it is not your attitude, or personality, what makes one "soul" different from the next?Hmm... I don't know if I'm making sense anymore :) Do you really think that we are just nothing after we die? Thats kind of depressing. I hope we get reincarnated.

you are wrong. I have thought about it, and even if you take religion away you are still going to get these wretches ho murder, steal from banks, rape, bash people, rude wretches, people that hate etc, so really this horrible world would be no better of. Who agrees with me?And most of these people who do htis are not in any religion. So you take away relogion from this world you are still going to face the same problems discrimination, racism, violence anger etc, so really it will noto make any difference.

Behe is probably the most prominent name among Intelligent Design advocates. I haven't read his newest book, but from the reviews I'm gathering he now believes that we evolved from a common ancestor but God helped (guided the mutations).

Anyone know anything about this?

As best as i can tell
it will not matter one bit if we believe or not
what matters is does God believe it exist
judgement is reserved for him
even if we believe or not believe (in hell)

In revelation it talks about the oceans turning like a dead mans blood(acidic) 1/3 of man and 1/3 of the fish in the sea, etc, will die...

If an asteroid comes down, the blast alone(depending on where it landed) could kill millions and then the dust and stuff in the air would kill many others, the sulpher, iron, etc. that would go into the water would turn it very acidic and would kill a lot of the fish...

Also, in the bible it says God will destory the world with fire this time....when an asteroid coms through the atmospheres it catches on fire because of friction....

So could it be an asteroid?

Why do the Christians believe CBN ever tells the truth?

Does the CBN sponsored web site http://usminc.org/ get its orders on what to basterdize or lie about direct from Pat Robinson or can they make it up themselves?

Why are Christian Answerers afraid to say that it is a fundie site when they quote it as a true cite to back up an answer's validity?

This denial of noticing this web site is interesting in the repetative asking I've done.. I did a search and stopped after 2000 hits of http://usminc.org/ being used as a cite to back up a Christians answer or question. As usual Christians have a blindness for the truth.

Try a YA search for usminc, yourself.

If you want the Truth.....Ask a Pagan.
That's right I'm not the Atheist so many are such a hurry to label me. Though I hold them more honorable than the majority of Protestants.

That the Eucharist litterally turns into the blood and body of Christ?

I don't remember it saying in the bible "eat this all of you for it is my flesh. And when Jesus spoke those words it turned into flesh." or "drink this all of you, for it is my blood. And when Jesus spoke those words it turned into blood."

He said do this in memory of me....I think it's just a representation of Christ, not Christ himself....

agree/disagree?

people give you flyer's that ask you if you are "going to heaven"? I am a cashier at walmart and I think it is the stupidest thing when people give me flyers after ringing them up. Do you get these often? I just throw them right in the trash can right after they hand me them.

I do not believe in the death penalty only JESUS has the right to say who is commend and who is not.YES I BELIEVE MURDER SHOULD BE A LIFE SENTENCE.So that innonce[Spelling?]people will not get hurt by that person again. But killing a person is wrong no matter what we are to forgive people their sins against us so that Jesus will forgive us our sins.We are also to protect the innonce people. That is why I believe in life sentence and the laws that our free nations have.
