You are distracted from yourSelf - that is the problem. Most people are consumed with distraction and can't imagine that anything else is valuable.
Practice detachment from your thoughts and feelings as a limited imprinted belief system - reconnect to being the observer and start choosing what you want to experience rather than bouncing around like a pinball.

Go to the cinema.
Go for a walk or for a swim.
Go out for a meal...
Seem like fairly universal solutions in the West.
Try some real meditation / just sitting; calm & still the mind, and make a habit of it.
The Buddha says the 'activating' & 'quietening' aspects of mind should be (fairly mindfully, I think) balanced / managed, to keep good mental states operational, and the unwholesome at bay.
CC says there's a place beyond good & evil - 'meet you there'?
Refer to mind as 'it'; not 'me'; i.e. 'it's restless'.
Helps with getting perspective on things - seeing it as a kind of 'pet'.
Remember, almost every mental state is impermanent... :-)

I like to take a drive. Paying attention to the scenery on the back roads can distract me from myself.

I don't try. Distraction leads to confusion and the world is confusing enough without my input to distraction.

Anything which draws my attention draws me out of my self-pitying. If we are all one, as has been plausibly stated, we still have surfaces which make us seem to be separate on the material plane. Therefore, we do not have to pay attention to our one-ness all the time. There is no point to a singularity, if you can accept the paradox of the pun.

I never need to distract me from myself then how i can tell you!
Because I am myself and myself is I am and I never feel otherwise. I feel always happy to think about God and to do something for human beings.
Think you also please for peace

Well sometimes there is a dance over on my 360 if you don't mind dancing with Kali. She is very good at what she does.

attempt and concentration on their return and what you will do collectively whilst that guy or woman returns back. it is organic to omit somebody who you carry costly, yet questioning of helpful issues will make their absence somewhat much less complicated to bear.
