Behe is probably the most prominent name among Intelligent Design advocates. I haven't read his newest book, but from the reviews I'm gathering he now believes that we evolved from a common ancestor but God helped (guided the mutations).

Anyone know anything about this?

He is frantically grasping at the last hope safety line before he drowns into oblivion.

scrubs: I am not a Michael Behe fan and have my own views on "intelligent design". I do not subscribe to the convergence of the species therefore, Evolution is not a plausible option for me. I am a Christian and I feel either, you believe in a Creator - minus "guided the mutations" or you DO believe in Evolution and convergence. NO FENCE-SITTING !!!
Science today is denying Darwin and his theory (check out the Center for Science and Culture web-site (CSC):
www.dissentfromdarwinism.org - herein, you will find Scientific proofs countering Darwin's theory by the droves. Top Scientists from the most prestigious colleges and universities around the world, have listed their names and faculties of study.

I think it was in Darwin's Black Box that he says he believes in evolution from common ancestors.

He's been thoroughly trounced when it comes to "Irreducible Complexity". Check out the Dover trial, he basically had to admit that Intelligent Design isn't science:

I was aware of a previous book Behe wrote, but not a new one. I don't know anything about this. However, you might check with www.answersingenesis.org organization...........

Link to this web address and ask them.

Now that Irreducible Complexity has been refuted in biological systems, he's taking a safe fall back position.

I will tell you that the above view is the most commonly held by Americans. Most of the population believes both in God AND in evolution.

If he's Christian, he's contradicting the Bible (or science) because either way, one theory will be warped if you try to combine both and have them make sense.

if he has made that switch it's just a matter of time before he renounces religion altogether
