Why does it seem like every religion has the right to tell us that our religion is wrong, a cult, a worship to Satan, and among other things?
To answer: no one has the right to judge, Thats what God will do. maybe give an opinion.

Personally I am getting tired of this Catholic vs. world religion fight. Why does it matter if you have different gods/dess, all you should worry about is yourself- who cares what the next person is doing!
Also people have the right believe in anything they want to! Why can't people get some respect for others religions, and not convert everyone to the "true religion." I just get angry at people that are ignorant and start on this whole thing about how the other religion is evil and so on. So answering your question, NO one has the right to tell other people that their religion is wrong no matter what your religion is.

Polytheistic religions tend to avoid this need to be "right", because they're used to the notion that other people don't worship the same deity, or share the same beliefs, as they do.

The belief that there is only one supreme being that has all the powers that anyone's polytheistic gods have, combined, is great... as long as EVERYONE shares the same belief. The problem is, if your God (which is, of course, the only God there is) governs all of humanity, and there are cultures that don't agree with you... they're wrong. They can't possibly be right, because there's only one God to be worshipped, and they're not worshipping Him. If they would only listen to you, instead of claiming that there were many Gods, then they could get into Heaven. And everyone wants to get into Heaven, right?

It's not that monotheists feel they have the right to tell other people their religion is wrong; it's that they feel they have to. Rights don't come into play. It's viewed as a compassionate, soul-saving act. Simply put, if there really is only one God, then either you were lied to, or everyone else was. And since you have faith in your own convictions, that can only mean that everyone else is not only wrong, but damned if you don't do something about it.

It's eerily easy to see how this kind of thinking comes about when you simply put yourself in the other person's shoes.

All Christians are bad about that! Well, actually most religions are that way. I am Pictish, a witch, and i will NEVER tell anyone what they believe is wrong. If it is right for them then in their mind it is right and that is just fine with me. NO religion has any real proof, only faith in what has been told and presented to them as proof. A book written by man IS NOT proof! Just because someone believes God told them to write it does not make it absolute proof. Just here say.

The Holy Roman Catholic church does so on the same grounds as do all other Christian sects, as do the Jews, the Muslims, etc., etc., etc.
Everyone wants to be right and wants others to say that they are right, even when they might actually be wrong.

Sadly religion often becomes twisted by men rather than practiced in its pure form of love of others, tolerance, understanding and compassion.

may it all be well with you.

It is silly to say only Catholics tell other people their religion is wrong! All religions draw the circle of US and THEM, where US are the saved or somehow better than THEM. Some think it is worth sharing this information with others. Some think it is not good information to share with others and let them discover the superiority of their faiths. Some do not even allow you to enter their faith, such as the Hindus, except some new sects that allow or encourage conversion.

Ultimately one thing is common to one and all. There is a certain level of US type selfishness involved in it.

The best way to look at this whole situation is to realize that we all have a SINGLE ALMIGHTY, who created us and them and thus if you relate to the Almighty, through Him, you relate to one and all, as everyone is made by Him. Thus if He is yours, so is everyone.

If you do not have that larger perspective, then you will certainly draw the smaller circles of US and THEM and point fingers at THEM.

I hope this makes sense.

Because that is what Jesus said.

The Catholic Church was commissioned by Christ to teach all nations and to teach them infallibly—guided, as he promised, by the Holy Spirit until the end of the world (John 14:26, 16:13). The mere fact that the Church teaches that something is definitely true is a guarantee that it is true (cf. Matt. 28:18-20, Luke 10:16, 1 Tim. 3:15).

Christ promised to guide and protect HIS Church, which will last till the end of the age.

"And so I tell you. Peter; you are a rock, and on this rock foundation I will build my church, and not even death will ever be able to overcome it. I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of heaven; what you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven and what you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven." - Matthew 16,18-20

"And teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age." - Matthew 28,20

The Catholic Church is the Church of the living God and the pillar and foundation of truth.

But if I delay, this letter will let you know how we should conduct ourselves in God's household, which is the Church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth. - 1 Timothy 3, 15

Christ sent the Holy Spirit to guide and protect the Church:

"I will ask the Father, and he will give you another helper, who will stay with you forever". - John 14,16

"I have told you this while I am still with you, The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you". - John 14, 25

"When, however, the Spirit comes who reveals the truth about God, he will LEAD YOU INTO ALL TRUTH." - John 16,13

Peace and blessings!

Edit: Praise the Lord, a thumbs down. The truth will set you free, brother.

Not all Catholics do, but the ones that do evangelize do it because they don't want us to go to Hell (not Christian just saying their reasons). Just ignore it. You'll never persuade them to stop. It's like arguing with a brick wall.

It isn't a right. It's a responsibility. In fact, it is a divine mandate. God Himself, in the person of Jesus Christ, COMMANDED the Catholic Church which He had established, and no other, to "go forth and make disciples of all peoples". His Church has obeyed that command for 2,000 years, and will do so until the end of time. Obviously one aspect of revealing to people that the Catholic Church is the one true Church establshed for them by God, is to point out to them the false teachings and practices of their own manmade churches.

Everybody thinks their religion is right or they wouldn't belong to it. At least I would hope they know enough about it to think that it is right.
