I'm referring to Adam and Eve here.

They were kicked out the Garden of Eden for eating the forbidden fruit and forced to live on Earth where there was pain and suffering. Fair enough, they broke the rules.

But why are we still all being punished, and forced to live on Earth, when it was a sin that our ancestors committed thousands of years ago?

I understand that some people are bad during their lifetime and so maybe deserve to be banished from Eden even to this day, but what about the genuinely good people in life?

As far as I'm aware, people like the Pope and many others live good, honest lives. So why are they forced to stay on Earth and suffer? Why aren't they born straight into the Garden of Eden if they are good people?

1 To see You more clearly
2 To love You more dearly
3 To follow You more nearly

What are other things that we pray to the Lord that do not have to do with wanting anything for ourselves or for God to give us certain things. What selfless prayers can we pray to the Lord this day..

Jesus cannot save you, only God can. Jesus himself will be judged on judgment day. Please don't follow Paul, he is just a man. Follow Jesus, follow God.

1 Corinthians 15:28

When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all.

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in Heaven, neither the son, but the Father." (Mark 13:32 and Matt. 24:36) But God knows all. His knowledge is without any limitations.

"Verily, verily I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do..." (John 5:19). Again he said, "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not mine own will but the will of the Father which has sent me." (John 5:30) But God is not only All-Powerful, He is also the source of all power and authority.

I really don't see the point in trying to prove other religions wrong. I'm a christian, but I respect all religions even athiests. But I see athiests on yahooanswers and in my daily life always trying to prove christianity wrong. I find that so stupid, let people believe what they want to believe, and let people do what they want to do. Why waste your time trying to prove something wrong, when you can do something productive.

Or any scientific explanation of the origins of the universe and life? I know, this question has been asked a billion times here already. But I want to hear from the devout Christians who also believe in Evolution.

This question is for Christians. What are some stereotypes and misimpressions that people have about your religion? Do you feel that members of your religion contribute to these negative stereotypes in any way?

Sincere answers only, no Christian-bashing. I am trying to get past my own negative stereotypes and prejudices, and I will be asking a series of questions like this. Some of them may sound silly. These are sincere questions, not intended to offend, but to help me get past my own stumbling-blocks. I'm not looking to convert, just to understand.

Being the way I am I can't be frustrated or angry at anyone for too long. Sometimes even when I know the person might turn around and stab me in the back again, I forgive them because they often times promise me they will change. I forgive them because the Prophet (PBUH), used to forgive anyone who did harm to him, and forgiveness is the only way to attain inner peace. But, should there ever be a limit, and is there any Islamic ruling on this... or rather on people like this.

Non-Muslims: What would your faith say regarding this matter. and Atheists-- Do you hold any moral or ethical personal restraints about people like them..

The book at http://gospelenigma.com makes a strong case that Jesus and John the Baptist and the Apostles were monastic and were encouraging others to seek God who is unseen... which is a monastic endeavor.

It appears to me that Jesus pulled the apostles away from their families. How do you see it?

This question is specifically for Christians. What is the difference between Charasmatic, Born-Again, Fundamentalist, and Evangelical? Are they the same, related, overlapping, or completely different? Do you have to fall into one or more of these categories to be a Christian? Have these movements helped or hindered the Christian Faith?

My kids want to turn me into a diamond, which is fine by me, I'll be dead.
Failing that I'd go for a humanist-style non-denominational service (or just a party would be good) and a woodland burial as it's environmentally friendly.

Does the thought of being disposed of on unconsecrated ground or someone turning you into a bit of bling put the proverbial fear of God into you?

Please don't follow Paul, follow Jesus, follow God. The concept of the Saviour is silly, how can you believe that all the wrong that you do, purposfully, will be paid for you by Jesus, when Jesus himself will be judged on judgment day. The innocent doesn't die for the guily. If you believe that God is a Just God then you cannot believe that he sent his son to die and pay for OUR sins.

Maybe I am guilty of making a biased assesment(due to my beliefs) of the consequences of taking God out of school but it seems to me that the more we remove any referance to God and the existance of moral absolutes and right behavior crime, violence and a general disrespect for fellow man has permeated our public schools. Is it significant that students behavior is much more elevated at religious schools or am I missing something???

Every time something goes wrong, legalistic ppl cry for more law; But biblical and historical evidence reveal more law = worse-end. Isn't it about time ppl started using their God given senses to discern if law is "both good and evil", then it ends with "evil"... evil concupsiscence...PTSD...Bi-Polar Dis-Order...Depression: Oppression of the d-evil(law)...Humpty Dumpty had a great fall...you can't uncrack an egg...Hell-o!

Our Father, deliver us from "evil": Matthew 6:13
We are delivered from the "law": Romans 7:6
Connecting the Biblical Dots?

The old Church in the weeds

A Wonderful story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just two little boys walking down a dusty lane....They came upon this old white house...with broken window panes.

The paint was faded, the shine was gone....the grass had grown so high.....still they made their little feet go see what was inside.

They opened up the squeaky door and then it came to light.... This must

have been an old church house...once upon a time.

Dirty, dusty wooden pews... a pulpit that still stood... A bible lay upon it.... though the pages weren't too good.

An offering plate and song books too...were lying on the floor. They must have left this old church fast...the day they closed these doors.

And over in the corner a piano was still there...it must have played a pretty tune...but I guess nobody cared.

So little Bill looked up at Tommy...and Tommy looked at Bill... Why don't we clean this old church up, and get these old pews filled?"

They took a rag and wiped the dust...to try to make things shine. And then they took the offering plate...and put in it their last dime.

They took a broom and swept the floor..and picked up broken glass.... They got it all so nice and neat...and then they mowed the grass.

They lifted the old church sign...and stood it by a tree...right down by that old dirt road....where everyone could see.

They ran back home, to find Daddy gone...but their Momma was inside....

Just to find her hurt again...where Daddy had made her cry.

" Don't cry Momma, wipe those tears, " Little Bill and Tommy smiled... "Cause we have a big surprise for you...just down the road a mile."

Hand in hand they tugged at her...until they made her run. "What is it Bill, Oh Tommy, Just what have you two kids done?"

And then they came upon the house...once hidden by the weeds...and there it stood a country church...just like it used to be.

"But what is it, Mother? What's with your tears? We thought this would bring you joy." "Yes, but hush kids now and listen close...my two sweet precious boys."

They both got quiet and stood real still....for the words they heard so

true....was Daddy praying in the church...with his head bowed on the pew. "Forgive me Lord! Forgive me Lord! though I'm not worthy of Your love... shine down on this sinner man... sweet Salvation from above."

"For I've been out in the world, You know....living my life all wrong....until I came upon this church; the place where I belong."

"I never noticed it before...all those times I passed it up....I guess I wasn't looking, Lord....or maybe I was drunk."

Bless oh Lord, yes, bless oh Lord...the one who made me see.... this little church that used to hide...behind all those tall weeds."

And then he raised his head and stood....with his hands high in the air...to find two, dirty, tear-faced boys...with Momma standing there.

They ran up to him, hugged him tight...as their tears fell on the floor. " Don't worry kids; I'm not the Dad, the one you've known before."

Things are different for us now...so keep on those pretty smiles...and let's go gather people in...to walk down these church aisles."

Then Bill looked up at Tommy...and Tommy looked at Bill..."Come on brother; let's get to work....to get these old pews filled."

"For we need no special blessing...for cleaning up this church.. cause,

God gave us back our Daddy...and that's more than gold is worth."

Sunday morning, pews all filled....and smiles on every face...Especially two little country boys...the ones who found this place.

Though it was hid back in the weeds....and so far out of sight... Nothing's ever hard to find...if you're walking toward God's light.

1 John 1:7 "We walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."

Won't you please share this with people you want to be blessed?

Have A Happy Day!
