Have you ever had a biopsy done? How did it make you feel when you discovered that lump? How did it affect you spiritually? Did you pray to God or just grow numb? I had one done about a year ago on my neck. My doctor thought it was Lymphoma but it turned out to be safe. I was scared out of my mind. How did your's make you feel? Sometimes without thinking I catch myself rubbing the scar and checking for other lumps, but then stop myself and remember that it's all in the past. Have you ever had a time that scared you so badly you started thinking about things like guardians for your children?

"Selective reduction is one of the most unpleasant facts of fertility medicine, which has helped hundreds of thousands of couples have children but has also produced a sharp rise in high-risk multiple pregnancies. There is no way to know how many pregnancies achieved by fertility treatment start out as triplets or quadruplets and are quietly reduced to something more manageable. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which publishes an annual report on fertility clinic outcomes, does not include selective-reduction figures because of the reluctance to report them.

The industry doesn't publish them, either. "This is a very sensitive topic," says David Grainger, president of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology, the membership group for IVF clinics. It's sensitive, personally, for patients, but also politically, for doctors."

In in-vitro fertilization, dozens of your eggs are fertilized then implanted into your womb. When for or five of the babies begin to grow, you are forced to terminate all but one or two of the babies.
This link is to an LA Times article about a couple who had to face this decision:
http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-op-neil6may06,0,2723837.story?coll=la-opinion-rightrail

Are you comfortable with terminating three of four children in order to have one or two? How do you justify this ethically and morally? Thank you for your responses.

If you wanted to have a baby and then discovered the child in your womb had down syndrome, would you terminate the pregnancy? (Guys, would you want your wife to abort?)

people come and ask me what I do for a living I say I seek the Lord for his will. They say how do u pay your bills, I say the lord supplies for me, I tell everyone I seek his face and they want me to be on disabilaty. So I get a disbilaty check every month. Well there is a little more than that, But I say to them the Lord will take care of me. I love it when my doctors dis my faith, and say God can not help u, only medication can. It makes me ever stronger in my faith. So I seek and seek for a purpose, and for knowlage and understanding that only God can give that is my only Job. I use to make alot of money, now I live in poverty and I am much happier here then when I worked. But the lord God must realize that A true christian can not just pray all the time. They must serve him and pray all the time. So I pray strongly for his holyspirit. Who enjoys there Job like I do? tell me why? I just love it when people put down my faith, and say God can not help u, u have to do it yourself?

OK I understand that you do not believe in God and that is fine. Each to their own and we should respect that (and most do) so ok why do always have something bad to say to the people who do believe? Does it bother you that bad that people have differant opinions when you dare us to think or say anything against yours? And whats up with the constant insults to all the religions 24/7?

I know that when I do not believe nor care about something I do not open my mouth about it bc I DO NOT CARE? Hmm makes you wonder right?

I am seriously trying to understand something that isn't sitting very well with me .... please help me understand this from the JW perspective...

You say you have truth.
You say you are the only ones who preach as Jesus commanded...

I have noticed several JWs say that they are not primarily concerned with converting people, but moreso with working as Jesus requested.

Are you not realizing that the point of this request was to have us help bring others to salvation - not log the number of hours we do the actual work?

Wouldn't fruits of the Holy Spirit be the conversions and not the works?

Are you really more concerned with the field service report than the fate of your neighbors?

Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

I have struggled with matters of faith my whole life. From varying viewpoints of christians, to better known philsophies to completely off the wall ideas. I am finally happy where I am in my faith as a Christian...yet I am called a large sort of names by more traditional Christians. Perhaps it is lack of faith and knowledge of history that prevents me from seeing eye to eye with fellow Christians on a particular matter. If Jesus was risen from the dead or not is not a factor in the way I honor him. I follow Jesus the man. I follow what he taught. I honor him for giving his own life to help guide me down a more positive path.
I don't know if he was "God's Son" in the since it is excepted. I except it as a metaphore meaning he was someone to be highly honored, a man of great wisdom. I do not think that when he "died for my sins" that all my sins were washed away. I know he was killed for his teachings and his teachings were passed down to my ears and from that I can live a happier life.

Lately my friend has been teaming up with our other friends who happen to be unbelievers, criticizing me. Its like he's become my enemy. He lives like how he used to a long time ago when he used to be bad. He started this because we disagreed on a doctrinal issue. He's making it sound like he's better than me spiritually. He's sinned way worse than me. He's had sex with many people, done drugs, etc. I've done none of that anb he knows that.

I hear so many cruel things being thrown at us Muslims and our religion of Islam. When in Islam were taught to respect others no matter what. I do not find it fair that the bad extremist who follow their own made up Islam have got a bad name for all of us normal people. I am a normal girl just like any other. The only differance is my faith. Its very sad to me that people think of us the way they do.

First of all im not out to start a big controversy or for you people to call me an idiot or anything like, im just curious.

Based on the Evolutionary theory, and the theory of Survival of the fittest who says that has created a new species? Many people are now coming out and saying we did not come from any monkeys, apes, etc, but they are a distant cousin, so werent there humans to begin with? Its like when a baby grows up, it changes drastically. It becomes stronger, smarter, faster, but does that mean its a new species? Wouldnt that just be a part of life like the Big Man upstairs intended, for all of us to grow up and change?

why would atheists (AND THE LIKE), do in these situations....? (HONESTLY)

1. you just quarreled with a colleague. you go for lunch and sat down with another colleague. what would you do?

2. you see a middle age woman with lots of bags of groceries coming up the train, balancing herself. you are VERY VERY TIRED. what do you do?

3. you just came home. your mom was really unreasonable. scolded you for something you did not do. what would you do?

4. you are alone in a room with a boy/girl you like. people have warned you not to have sex before marriage before because of high risk of STDs, HIV, unwanted pregnancies. what do you do? you are 18 years old already.

5. you made an enemy in school. you really don't like him. you see him eating alone in the cookhouse. you are sitting with your friends. what do you do?

please answer according to the questions. and answer as if you are in the situation. which means, answer honestly with your heart.

About a year ago, Time Magazine devoted an issue to a debate between an atheist and a Christian. The Christian was a man from Oxford who had converted, and the Atheist was also English, but I don't remember either of their names. I believe the atheist may have been Richard Dawkins. If you remember, please answer. I need this for my psychoanalyzing religion course.

An earlier question got me thinking. People are so quick to just state their beliefs as if they are absolute.

Why can't people just say "I believe this about God", or something like that, instead of saying "God is this way".

Either way gets across that you believe that. Saying it rudely doesn't make it more true. So why do people state their beliefs so rudely?

All of you realize that no one has proof for anything they believe, and that, from an objective outsider, non looks more plausible? People inside religions feel they have more proof than others, but it's not true.

There's no proof for anyone's God. There's no proof that their isn't some sort of god. So what's up with that?

I ask this because of some answers I got regarding reactions pagans get from others when they tell others they are pagans. Many said they would not tell, for fear of injury to property or employment. So, would anyone out there be such a person?

Mark and Luke are not found in the biblical list of 12 disciples.
The earliest Gospel is that of Mark’s which was written about 60-75 AD. Mark was the son of Barnabas’s sister. Matthew was a tax collector, a minor official who did not travel around with Jesus. Luke’s Gospel was written much later, and in fact, drawn from the same sources as Mark’s and Matthew’s. Luke was Paul’s physician, and like Paul, never met Jesus. By the way, did you know that the names Marks and Luke were not included in the 12 appointed disciples of Jesus as mentioned in Matthew 10:2-4?

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; the first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
