that is what it sounds like. All through the bible it talks about the last days and the last war and Armageddon the destruction of evil. But here it mentions using the store house of the hail. This corresponds to the place in Revelation 16:21 speaks of hail. that weighs 45 pounds now that would do some damage. What does this mean?

Today, in many churches, many Protestants raised prayer concerns for themselves and for family members and others who are suffering from some evil or calamity or illness. They asked the congregation to pray for themselves or for some family member or someone they know. If it is OK for the person sitting next to you in the pew to pray, isn't also OK to ask the Saints who have come before you and even the Virgin Mary to pray as well?

In the lively discussions around the world about Jehovah God commanding Jewish boys to Gang Rape 32,000 virgin baby girls, the question was asked for deflectionary reasons, if, also the animals the Jews stole were gang raped. A team of Full Gospel Bible scholars have informed, the answer to that is: yes! In fact, animal sex, Bestiality or Zoophilia, was so common amongst the Jews, Jehovah God had to concoct a command to restrict it to the inner, power circles ((Le20:15,16; l8:23; Ex 22:19; De 27:21). It is evident the Jews taught the habit to the Canaanites and others (Le18:23-30). It was for this purpose the Egyptians expelled them, not for persecution. The Bible is full of such examples. Hence, it can be positively stated that the gang rapes of 32,000 virgins at the order of Jehovah, and multiple sex orgies with beasts and fowls went hand in hand. The only difference is, with the baby girls-theywere-well we don't know. The beasts and fowls were eaten in a blazing party. Any Info?

If all you have to do to be saved is believe in Jesus (accept Jesus) , wouldn´t that imply that you have merited your salvation (by your act of faith), and that would be equivalent to salvation by works? Is Faith Alone then not a contradiction in itself?

Maybe ýou can get a clue from the greek word used for "believe":
Believe (pisteuousin = pisteuousis) in his name - “pistos” can in the NT refer to "a believer". But being a believer in the NT sense is not primarily an intellectual accept of a doctrine or a set of doctrines, but a matter of surrender to Jesus Christ as Lord, and in that sense, the idea of loyalty and unwavering commitment is part of it (faithful) It would be a contradiction in terms to talk about an "unfaithful believer”. (http://lists.ibiblio.org/pipermail/b-greek/2003-February/024708.html)
Pistos is used 67 times in the New Testament., and. 57 times it is translated by the word "trustworthy" or its equivalent.

Most religious people get along just fine with one another despite differing beliefs.
Its when the fundies show up that the fights start and blood gets shed and innocent people get killed.
If we could outlaw self righteousness and confine anyone who used violence or threats in the name of religion I think the world could be a better place for all.
Don't you?

I know most Protestant denominations emphasize faith in God. Traditionally The Catholic Church has emphasized performing the sacraments. Is this still the case?

Thank you.

I'm catholic right now, and I get close to nothing out of my church right now. And I've attended lutheran churches before, and out of one visit, I've got more out of that than I've ever gotten out of my whole life at my current catholic church. So my question to you is, what are some differences between catholic and lutheran? I really really really like this lutheran church, and I really need to convince my parents to let me switch, so how can I convince them?

A USA Today story reported the results of an Ipsos poll that found that 25% of Americans believe that Jesus will return in 2007 (http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2006-12-31-new-year-predictions_x.htm).

These people believe, for no particular reason, that the Apocalypse will occur before New Year’s. You will see Jesus coming on the clouds before it’s time to return the blender Aunt Betty gave you for Christmas. A horse born this year will not be old enough for the Four Horsemen to ride. And don't even waste your time praying for your team to win the Superbowl. There won't be one.

Could this explain why nobody minds an endangered environment, a staggering debt, an unwinnable war, high interest rates, etc?

It seems like, in the biggest global debates, the majority of energy is spent just trying to prove that god exists; let alone that one particular version of it is the acutal truth.

It just seems to me that it used to be that an atheist was a very rare thing, that no one questioned that SOME version of god existed.

But polytheism has largely given way to monotheism... and now monotheism is being picked apart by atheism. From what I can tell, more and more people are either watering down their religion (I.E. not believing the bible is literally true), not bothering to claim a religion, or are becoming outright atheists.

(Just so no one can accuse me of being ambivalent, ... I think this is a good thing)

What do you think? Let's say the rapture/apocalypse/ragnarok/whatever, never happens. Can you see theism disappearing eventually? I'm not asking if you wish it to be so or not, I'm asking if you think things are heading in that direction.

How do I make my faith stronger...I want to be able to know Jesus, and know my God, and be able to ask him for forgiveness, without wondering if I am wrong to ask him for something I did wrong?

I want to be able to love him, and prove his rightousness, but I am not sure where to begin...

Please shed some light on this matter felly Christians
