here are some i learned in my Catholic upbringing:
*if you cannot sell your house, bury the statue of st joseph in your yard upside down- (yeah- that will do it!)
*if you have a sty in your eye, use your wedding ring to make 3 crosses over your eye- (clears that right up!)
*say the hail mary (sorry, I forgot how many times- pick a number) and you will get 5 years taken off of purgatory (I am STILL trying to find that one in the Bible!)
*If you find a penny on the ground that means a ead person is trying to talk to you- (hmmmm... according to what the Bible says about talking to dead people , I would be leaving that penny right where it is and RUNNING the other way!)
There were many others, most having to do with various dead 'saints' fortunately for me, though, I can't remember any more.

I will be really glad when people are not enslaved to these sort of things.....When you begin to live in the footsteps of christ, you are free! b Some want to say that to live a christian life is too restrictive but it is actually the other way around......There is nothing that is good for you that our father in the heavens does not allow you to do..... I am glad that i got my freedom....anybody else want theirs? It is a challenge!

my favourite one ( although I'm not superstitious ) is the magpie one
magpies always mate for life , so to see one alone is thought to be unlucky
hence the rhyme
One for sorrow, two for joy;
Three for a girl, four for a boy;
Five for silver, six for gold;
Seven for a secret, never to be told;
Eight for a wish, nine for a kiss;
Ten for a bird that's best to miss
