If you had three people, experts in every fashion of their area of expertise come together to have a lovely debate about what is Truth, how do you suppose that would go? I put forward that these three people would be of Religion, Science and Philosophy or the three main branches of human intellect. What do you suppose would assist or prevent these three from coming to an agreement that they all have truth, but all are in error?

=)

Should a person launch into a detailed and involved study of the entire Bible before deciding that atheism is more reasonable than Christianity or any other sort of theism? Some Christians seem to think so by the way they act and sometimes asking, for example, just how much an atheist has studied the Bible. Self-professed Christians aren't asked this, so why the double standard?

Here's a question I've had rolling around in my head. Obviously the Bible says we all have free will and go to heaven or hell accordingly. But here's my beef. If someone who is legally, mentally insane and cannot possible tell what they are doing is wrong or at the very least have the inability to separate fantasy from reality. If they commit a criminal act such as, say, murder or mass murder (like the guy who sniped people from the Texas bell tower who had a tumor growing in his brain effecting his judgment), does God still send them to hell? If that is so then it is obvious that mental diseases effect the soul. Any comments?

Yesterday some chick, I can't remember her screenname posted a question (more like a statement) that God wouldn't have put quantum physics in the Bible because people wouldn't have understood it.

Sho-Nuff asks this:

Why didn't god at least put basic hygeine in the Bible?

Brush at least twice daily or after meals

Lather, rinse and repeat

lather up, rub your hands for 30 seconds to work the soap to cover the entire hand and then rinse

Simple things like that instead of all that stuff about women on their periods being unclean and not allowed in the tent?

I mean, wrote down all the things I believe are true. It would be like my own personal Bible. Would anyone read it? I think the book would only be a few pages long (at the most). Who would be open-minded enough to read what I truly believe? Has anyone else here ever written their own 'holy book'?

I've come to the conclusion that people overall are plain stupid. Its not an insult its just true. We hold our bias' based on our own limited perception and then convince ourselves that our reality is the only reality that exists.

Unfortunately since each of us is a trapped victim of our own limited minds every moron around us wants to point the finger, judge people, and act as if their perception is the only way. I cant stand the stupidity, the races acting as if we are different because of our color, religions pointing the finger as if they know exactly who or what God is and as if they know their religion is the divine one, atheist judging religions as if they are the reason for the worlds problem and not the people who screw it up.

I cant stand how bias people are and how plain stupid they can be as if anyone of knows .00000001% of all there is to know.

Can anyone relate to this?

There a lot of Hindu minorites in the Middle East. They have settled and are living a great life. You never hear of anyone killing, raping or massacring them. You never heard of temples being burned in Kuwait, Oman, Yemen or the UAE. Also, the Hindus over there are succesful in different fields. On the contrary, in India the Muslims are living in slums, they dont have positions in government. Villages burned, muslim women raped and much more.

Also review the paragraph below w

I've been over there. The muslims in India, in the poorer parts, are harassed and sometimes even whole villages destroyed. If you don't believe me just look it up. I've seen pictures and videos where Indian broke into homes of entire families and set them on fire.. They've even snatched babies from their mothers' arms and set them on fire. It's not a joke. If you get the chance to step foot outside of our border and highly censored nation, you will see that life was not what was shown on TV. It's hard out

I love the questions that start out with "Why do so many christians...." You know we are all different people, and view things diffrently. I guess there must be some scientific formula I don't know about that is the formula for what a "christian" is.

If Jesus said this, please provide the exact chapter and verse. Don't quote Leviticus or Romans, because those are by Moses and Paul respectively, not Jesus. I want to know if Jesus actually said that all homosexuals are going to hell. I have many gay and lesbian friends who are good and kind people. They believe in God, attend religious services, and do good works for others. I can't believe that a loving God will send them to hell just because they have a same sex life partner.

Why do so many Christians pretend that science and/or evolution are religions? This is a difficult question to answer because there are so many possibilities. Perhaps religion so controls their lives that they can't think outside of religious categories. Perhaps they can't imagine that anything which makes strong claims isn't religious.

Crystals, runes, tarot cards etc etc... it's a lot to take in and it is VERY confusing!

We should definately try to listen to mother nature and admire the natural world. So how do the crystals, stones, runes, tarot, etc work? How do you learn how to use these tools? Are there set procedures or do you do what comes instinctively? Do you meditate? I have heard of pagans 'praying', to whom do you pray? Is a prayer the same as a spell?

I apologise if I come across as being ignorant, but this is all very new to me and I am genuinely interested in Pagan beliefs and Majick (is it Majick or Magic? What's the difference? What's the origin?).

I have been to www.witchvox.com and some others but I am still confused. Can anyone help me understand some of these simple Pagan beliefs?

Please, I don't want Christians doing the whole witch-bashing thing here. Leave your Bible's at the door or walk away. I do not want a quote from the Bible. I want to hear from Pagans only please!
