If Jesus said this, please provide the exact chapter and verse. Don't quote Leviticus or Romans, because those are by Moses and Paul respectively, not Jesus. I want to know if Jesus actually said that all homosexuals are going to hell. I have many gay and lesbian friends who are good and kind people. They believe in God, attend religious services, and do good works for others. I can't believe that a loving God will send them to hell just because they have a same sex life partner.

Gary: Did Jesus say this, or did Paul? If Paul said it, it's not the answer I'm looking for.

Misty0408, does that mean that it's also a sin to be celibate? If so, then why do Catholic priests and nuns have to celibate?

Mexicanprincess, Jesus he hung out with prostitutes, thieves, and tax collectors, so I doubt that He would want me to stop hanging out with gay people. What am I supposed to do, denounce my relatives, friends, co-workers, and people I go to church with just because they are gay? That is hateful and bigotry and not the way Jesus wants us to treat people.

there are no 'direct words' of jesus in the bible, the new testament was written by the disciples and their offspring/followers.
its also important to keep in mind that the bible was written a long time ago, and not everything that is written still applies to modern day society.
Christianity did not start persecuting homosexuality until around 1000 Ad, during (christian) roman times homosexuality was NOT frowned upon.
i myself do not beleive. but it would make sense that your entire life would be weighed in such the decision between heaven and hell.
its certainly true that gay people can be good people, sometimes even more so than 'self proclaimed zealots' like the ku klux klan, or mormon devouts etc.

Yes, Jesus actually taught that homosexuality is a sin, although most people do not recognize his words. His words are found at Matthew 5:32. The Greek word there rendered fornication is porneia. This Greek word encompasses all unlawful, immoral sexual intimacy. That this also refers to intimate relations between those of the same gender can be seen in the fact that Jude uses the same Greek word – porneia - for fornication when he describes the reason the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed.
Yes, by his use of the language, Jesus taught that homosexuality was wrong. Incidentally, there is no question that gay people can be good, law-abiding citizens, loving each other, loving their families and friends and doing good deeds. Still, I am sure that for those who wish to please God, it is important that we find out how He feels about matters. At Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus made it plain that there would be those doing what they thought were wonderful things, even in the name of Jesus, and yet Jesus would reject their works as lawlessness, telling them on the great day that he had never known them. How awful it would be to be rejected by the one we thought we had been slaving for!
Truly, we want to make sure that our lives are in harmony with God's revealed word and not just in harmony with what we believe to be acceptable.

No Jesus never said anything like this. This nonsense was made up by Paul because he had been made ashamed Of his own homosexual encounters.
His response was in many ways a reflection of the way Haggart and Other closet homosexual evangelists always espouse withering attacks on homosexuals. It is self hatred and the fear that God is as narrow minded as they and their belief system are.
Thank God they are wrong about this.
It is found elsewhere in the bible because early Catholic church higher up's wanted to hide their pedophile tendency's so the brought scripture that supported anti homosexual ideas into the bible to avert any criticism of these tendencies.
The christian sects that later split off from Catholicism never recognized that this happened and this nonsense has remained in the OT till this day.

No. Jesus even healed the male slave of a Roman officer; there's currently a debate about the exact translation of the term that's been rendered as "slave". It might have meant "slave" in the sense of a male concubine.
If that's the case, then Jesus had no problem whatsoever with gay people. Look at how he accepted that soldier!
From the link listed below...
"A classic example is provided in Matthew 8. There, a Roman soldier asked Jesus to heal his "pais." This is a Greek term often used in ancient times to refer to a servant who was his master's same-sex partner. (K.J. Cover, Greek Homosexuality (Harvard University Press, Cambridge, 1978), p. 16). When the soldier said, "Lord, my 'partner' is lying at home paralyzed, in terrible distress," Jesus was immediately compassionate and spoke no words of exclusion or condemnation. He simply said, "I will come and heal him."
In the dialogue that followed, Jesus commended this Roman solider for having more faith than anyone he had ever met and assured him that he would sit down in the Kingdom of Heaven with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. By this miracle of healing, Jesus preserved this loving same-sex relationship. (For more information about the Greek term referred to above and how it should be translated, see the book recommended below.)
The Gospels are clear. Jesus refused to be bound by cultural prejudice. Repeatedly, he took up the cause of the oppressed and defended them against narrow-minded religious leaders."
And from the second link...
"Jesus did not live in Jewish Judea but in pagan Galilee. Here he would surely have been familiar with the Roman army's tolerance for homerotic relations extending across class lines. Jesus knew this was likely a homosexual relationship and by his cure indirectly endorsed it."

Not that I know of, but the law of Moses states that if a man were to lie with another man, Woman with woman, or man or woman with an animal, thay would be killed, by an order from god (Moses was a prophet, and God told him this) If Homosexuality was o.k. or natural, why are so many people trying to convince the world that it is fine. Do I go on marches dressing wierd and screaming to the world that I love women? Why don't I do that? Because for a man to love a woman, and a woman ot love a man is natural. If Homosexuality was the norm, then no children would be born and in about 100 years the human race would die out. Think about it.

Jesus of course and for my section condemend heterosexual sins, Do you truly have self assurance that He would limit heterosexuals yet enable gay to do something they wnat with out result? i actual do no longer understand the way homosexuals or supporters of homosexuals, think of that heterosexuals don't have sexual needs that if acted on would yield sexual sin. the nice and snug button is that God has provided a fashion for persons to be sexually fulfilled with out sinning, yet as common many all people isn't pleased with the way God has provided, and so as that they conflict to create their very own way. Proverbs 14:12 "there's a direction in the previous each and each guy or woman that looks good, besides the indisputable fact that it leads to death."

Jesus did not specify homosexuality, nor did he specify other sins. The Old Testament, that you do not want to hear from, did specify homosexuality. Jesus said this about the Old Testament, which means that he did speak to the subject:
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets... Matthew 5:17

First of all you say, "they are good kind people" This doesn't get anyone into heaven, "your good works are filthy rags to God". And "we are saved by grace and not by works lest anyone should boast"
Jesus said audultery and fornication is a sin. This is sex without marriage. It was known marriage was one man one women,
"It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but it is what comes out of the mouth that defiles... what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this is what defiles, for out of the heart comes evil intentions, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false witness, slander; these are what defile a person, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile." (Matthew 15:10, 18-20)
Also Jesus quoted from the old test all the time. Which means he believed them.
But, "All sin and fall short of the glory of God." God loves the sinner and not the sin. It is the immoral behavior that is condemned,
God loves your friends just as much as you and I. It's sad when i see people hurting homosexuals. They love, they have feelings and God loves them.

No Jesus didnt say anything about homosexuality, but there are several references to homosexuality found in scripture .
Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God (I Cor. 6:9, 10).
As knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for man slayers, 10for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine; 11according to the Good News of the glory of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust (I Tim. 1:9-11).

Any type of perversity in Gods eyes is a sin. Abnormal behavior between humans of the same sexual orientation is a sin. God's original intentions were to create a family on earth to interact with Him. He is our Father. We are his children. He created us "slightly" different for obvious reasons; procreation of ourselves to populate the earth......God did not make us specifically the way He did to have sexual relations with the same sex. That would be a form of perversity and an abomination to God and to the temple of the human body. That is going against everything God intended for us as a holy union between a man and woman. There is NO justification for it. Jesus didn't have to mention it for it to be wrong........ALL Holy scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit of God (God's Word). You either believe it all, or you believe nothing. There is no "in-between" where you pick and choose what you think is right and what you think is wrong and then apply it to your life and think your obeying God's Word......You either serve God, or you serve your own lusts and Satan the Devil.........There is a penalty to pay for sin.........The seveth commandment covers in principal ALL forms of illicit sex, INCLUDING....male and female homosexuality--now an enormous sin in the Westen world. Marriage is in God's sight such a precious, righteous, holy thing that must not be defiled!.....Notice God's purpose in creating man and woman!....And the Lord God said [after He had made only the man], "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him" (Genesis 2:18). god saw that a man was incomplete by himself, and so He decided to make a "helper" SUITABLE for man--one with whom a man could really share his life. so the first and primary purpose of marriage is to make man and woman complete. Each is incomplete without the other......Most people fail to realize that the Ten Commandments are living, moving, active laws--like the law of gravity. they are automatic. When you break them, they break you!........God WILL cast their soul into hell if they have heard and understood the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and what it takes for their salvation, and continue to reject it...."If you reject Him, He will reject you".....By continuing in a sinful lifestyle and never fully and sincerely asking for forgiveness, and accepting Jesus Christ into their life as Lord and Sarvior......they will perish! There is no other way!........"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." ....(Mathttew 7:13-14)
