I've come to the conclusion that people overall are plain stupid. Its not an insult its just true. We hold our bias' based on our own limited perception and then convince ourselves that our reality is the only reality that exists.

Unfortunately since each of us is a trapped victim of our own limited minds every moron around us wants to point the finger, judge people, and act as if their perception is the only way. I cant stand the stupidity, the races acting as if we are different because of our color, religions pointing the finger as if they know exactly who or what God is and as if they know their religion is the divine one, atheist judging religions as if they are the reason for the worlds problem and not the people who screw it up.

I cant stand how bias people are and how plain stupid they can be as if anyone of knows .00000001% of all there is to know.

Can anyone relate to this?

We stubbornly stick to our ideas and beliefs and are not open-minded enough to see that we may be wrong or our egos wont let us.We have to be right,we have to be smarter than the next guy, when we just show our ignorance. It is alright to say i just do not know I am willing to change my mind if proven wrong but many dont

I know where you're coming from.

In my last job a few of us took an online IQ test - only one person got 100 - she was the person who had come out with such things as 'Shakespeare didn't write Macbeth - Hamlet did!' and also 'What religion is Buddha?' That's average intelligence? You mean half of all people are even dumber?

What can you really do about it. I'd enjoy this forum much more if you had to have say, an IQ of more than 120 before you could contribute - imagine how much better the standard of debate would be.

There's no easy way to increase the intelligence of the whole species. Eugenics is frowned upon for being morally repugnant and aside from that, there's nothing. Of course ignorant isn't the same as stupidity - you could stop people being so ignorant by governments getting involved in the media - forcing them to stop dumbing everything down - more science on television and increase the education system gradually making it more and more difficult, giving each child a better chance at getting in to higher education. A set of skills that can serve them well in later life.

I'm NOT ignorant.

I agree with you that there are too many ignorants in this world though. However, I'm not one of them. I'm not racist and I don't discriminate anyone. I'm an Atheist because years of studying and learning led me to the conclusion that there's no God whatsoever. By virtue of what I've learned (which I can assure you, is much more than most people can even just imagine;) I can state that my knowledge is by far more than just 00000001% of all there is to know;) it may not be 100% , but it's definitely more than 40%;).

Human beings are endowed with Intellect, and they should use it to read, discover and learn as much as they can, in order to defeat Ignorance.

Everyone has an opinion and unfortunately not everyone can be right. Yes I can relate and I think everyone is ignorant in one way or another. We simply aren't perfect. I also think some people are more ignorant than others because they not only don't look for the truth, they simply don't want to know it and prefer to live in an unknowing existence because it is better for them.

Close but no cigar...Great men have shown incredible intellegence, ever moving forward, manipulating raw materials to create impliments to shape our future, asking fellow humans to labor under thier desire to conquer all and be rewarded with protection and health care and wealth..........oops!, sorry, wrong speach. That's the one about the 1% BS'ing the little guys. Were not all stupid. Our minds aren't trapped, our hands are tied by those who fear the uncertainty of change. If we shut her down and start her back up .....Someone is going to sit at the top.

Yes, I feel the same frustration every day. As a result I have lowered my expectations for humanity. I'd rather hang out with my dogs.

I once mentioned to my boss that I tought all humans were idiots. She said to me, in a huffy voice, "well what's that make you?"
My reply, "an idiot or inhuman, take your pick."

I agree that humans are ignorant to fight wars because of a lack of tolerance over other people's religious beliefs. Middle east vs. Israel being the prime example.

Absolutely. But you know, even though we're so small, we have such depths in ourselves, depths of wisdom, of compassion, of creativity. The problem is that dogmatism of any kind -- the dogmatism of conservative religion, the dogmatism of reductionistic science -- closes off those depths.

It is fear that prevents the expansion of the mind. I can relate, and I do get frustrated - but I try not to let this bother me to much. People are products of their raising.

I totally agree! And, in case you didn't notice, religion seeks to KEEP humans ignorant and stupid! They're easier to control that way!
