Just to explain: I'm a "gentile", but interested in Jewish roots in Christianity, and how the Christian church has been tainted by man-made rules/rituals.
I still believe in Jesus, so is it possible for a non-Jew to attend Messianic Jewish church (or is it Synagogue?) and become a "Messianic Jew", or would I have to go through the whole conversion process into Judaism to do that?

(Please: Serious answers only. I know that not everyone on here believes in anything religious, but please respect everyone's religious opinion and only respond if you know the answer to this. No snide remarks or rude comments, thanks.)

i don't know if their names are ever listed, i only know about the christian/jewish patriarch being banished to Eden, and that was the major reason for telling his subjects not to worship "the other gods" {it is important that i included the definate article}

Was it just a nifty bit of family planning
An earlier question through up the dea it was a public holiday.
This has always baffled me.
If god is that smart you think he could have made it the
1st of january.
Now that would have been real smart and proved once and for all there maybe is a god

I've refered to myself as agnostic, due to lack of a better term. I do believe in Jesus. I think that organized religion is a bad practice however (not that I have a problem with others practicing it).
I don't believe in the validity of the bible due to the fact that it has been rewritten and revised many times by people I don't trust. I think that people in organized religion pull away from god by letting their own pride and bias influence their beliefs and interpretation of God. I also believe that each religion hold some truth and due to organized religions the facts have been scattered and discarded by groups. is there any one here like me?

(please don't try and convert me, that's not what this question is about)

There is no doubt that Jesus(pbuh) is one of the many prophets of Islam. Even the Holy Koran contains many 'ayats' and 'surahs' on him. It confirms of his "divine" birth and that he is not dead, but that God had raised him from the face of this earth.

But the Islamic calender hardly mentions of Christmas as a Muslim holiday. It is incomprehensible to my mind as to how a Muslim who is supposed to regard Jesus(pbuh) as one of the chief prophets of Islam can refrain from celebrating his birthday!

Why do so many Christians declare that war is justifiable, such as the Iraq war or the war in Afghanistan? Why do Christians believe in turning the other cheek, when they rarely do? Why does Christianity declare so many wars, I thought they were supposed to be loving people, remember the inquisition and the crusades? Talk about intolerance. Why do Christians hate gays and people who differ in views? Why are Christians tactics so sadistic? Are Christians really devil worshipers trying to disguise themselves as simple sheep, so that they may devour the helpless and needy?

And do you think some condemn the Catholic Church over a few sicko preists who have committed a serious crime? I have nothing against Catholics. I'm not Catholic and I disagree with alot of what they teach; But its not my place to decide whether or not they are goind to hell. And how can anyone say that for that matter? I don't think people should try to force someone of another faith to believe what they do. Of course if someone is curious about what I believe then I will tell them. But Manipulation by installing fear in a persons mind is not the right way to reveal your Idea to someone.

I see this challenge from lots of atheists. I can offer personal proof, in the form of what I would call miracles, but of course the atheists denounce them as mere acts of chance.

I offer that multiple such acts of chance, that happen just when I was seeking them begins to stretch the credibility of statistical probabilities, but the "evidence" is denounced again.

So here is my question. What sort of evidence would you require, and would you require of yourself the same level of proof that a god does not exist? That is... if you require three cold, hard, incontrovertable elements of proof that a god does exist, would you require of yourself three equally satisfying pieces of evidence that one does not exist?

The "miracles" I've seen in my life are evidence enough for me.... what comprable evidence could you show that the contrary stance is tenable?

15 You saw no form of any kind the day the LORD spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves very carefully, 16 so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman, 17 or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air, 18 or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below. 19 And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars—all the heavenly array—do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven. 20 But as for you, the LORD took you and brought you out of the iron-smelting furnace, out of Egypt, to be the people of his inheritance, as you now are.

I don’t believe that anybody should root in hell for an eternity regardless of what they have done. I’m not saying that I approve of murderers, rapist, and child molesters. I just think if theirs any kind of god at all he wouldn’t make anybody root forever in hell. It’s a bit much don’t you think? I do believe that murderers and rapist deserve to be punished, but only in the real world. I don’t see these people as evil I think there mentally sick. I’m sure there is a place for them in the after live but not an eternity of hell. What kind of person does this make me? Does this mean I’m atheist, because you can’t believe in god if you don’t believe in the whole picture? Does this make me a bad person for believe that god has a bigger heart than what most people read about and think? I really would like to know what your opinion is, but before you judge me just remember one thing. This is how I feel and it can’t be helped.
