I'm praying for you, Mike. I am very glad to hear your optimistic attitude. With the love and support of friends, family, and fellow Christians, I believe you can certainly beat this.
Good luck, God bless you, and Merry Christmas.

You need more than our prayers. You need to check into a treatment center. You need to go to at least one NA meeting a day for the next 90 days, get a sponsor and work the steps. If there is no NA in your area go to AA. You need to let go of all of your friends that use drugs and maybe even move. Your wife also needs to attend a 12 step group for family of addicts, that is NA-anon. Or she can even go to Al-anon. You addiction affect the lives of everyone that loves you and everyone needs help. I hope you are serious. Pick up the phone and call your local Drug rehab program, look in the yellow pages, or call the Community Mental Health people and ask them where to call.
PS. Yes, I kind of wondered if this was a troll. Sometimes you have to err on the side of "maybe this one isn't a troll". Others will read this and learn, so it might help someone.

You have taken the first and hardest step..you have admitted that you have a problem. You will make it through this .Your wife and family are still with you? they must be able to see the good that is in you. You are on your way to a better future.Keep up the good work, and don't be afraid to ask for help. Please remember that you are worth while. Stay on tract and take positive steps in the direction of your goal, and don't be too hard on yourself. If you fall off the track get back up and try again. You will reach your goal. God bless you! and Merry Christmas to you and yours!

A prayer has been said and I will again when I so my bedtime prayers.... If you can come to God in The Way He presribes He can help you through this... If you can do this and put God first in your life over all else then you will have your new life...If you have questions concerning the basics of The True Christian Faith you may email me... I do not know about the drugs but I do know God...
All who come to God in The Way He prescribes will receive His free gift of Salvation...and with this will come an understanding of the obligation you have to God... with this understanding you will get the strength to do as God Wills for you...
btw... my name is Mike and I am 59... and my life is a mess as well... not drugs..but there are a lot of ways to mess up ones life... Here is a link to my testimony of my first day of The True Christian Faith... http://mikevanauken.pages.web.com/outreach/id109.html

Hi Kramer. You are to be admired for what you wish to do with your life, for your sake and the sake of your children and wife. Don't think God hasn't noticed this! He most certainly has and the struggles and the WISH to change and improve is more important than whether you do it all perfectly.
Yes, you need God every step of the way (we all do). Your drug addiction is something only God truly understands and when it happened, why it happened and why you are chained to it, both physically as well as mentally.
I'll tell you this, I would want a husband like you anyday, rather than a clean, healthy husband with no real struggles, who really didn't give a crap about God.
you're 33, what a great age to begin a change ;) As Jesus rose from the Dead at age 33. Look, you must battle this, and look at those drugs like one of your greatest enemies.
Sin is our greatest enemy. I do not know if drug addiction is a sin, as I do not know what it is like to have such a terrible affliction/addiction and someone who has had this since childhood? That is absolutely astounding. How many out there are in the same boat? many poor souls I would say.
No, it is not fair on your wife, your kids, nor is it fair on you. Lean on Christ daily. Time isn't just running out for you, it is running out for the world.
I will pray for you, but you also have to be strong every step of the way on this. The Devil hounds every person, everyday of their life, he knows each of our individual weaknesses and wants our ruination. God wants us to fight and overcome these things, which we battle on our journey through life. We are supposed to suffer and battle our weakness, even if we fall and fall again, you get back up and you fight. Never lay in the ground and think "I am defeated". You are never defeated, when you are willing to admit your weakness and addiction and you hold onto Christ's hand. Falling over is human. Christ fell three times while he carried his cross. Your cross is your drug addiction and no doubt you have more than that to bear also.
I pray you will be delivered of this awful affliction, but your delivery may come slowly, painfully and consist of falls along the way. God is looking at teh intentions of your heart and mind and they are good.
So don't give up, remember how Christ fell? Remember who He hung around? Sat with? ate with? All the apparent addicts of the society. The drunkards, the party goers, those with awful afflictions, illnesses. He's the real healer. So remind yourself of this and Satan as well.
I suggest you may want to wear something around your neck like a cross. Remind yourself everyday of who is on your side.

don´t depend on others´ prayers. You´re the only one responsible for it!
When you feel this strongly about kickin off the drugs, write down on a piece of paper all your reasons for doing so. Keep it handy at all times! Next time you need your dose take this piece of paper out and remind yourself why you want to kick it off.
Most of the time one keeps on having drugs is because of not remembering the suffering it causes us.

It is my sincere hope that you are not depending on prayer to help you. If the Christian religion is your thing, then perhaps you'd like the quote "God helps those who help themselves". Fix yourself, fix your family. No one else can do it for you, not even Jehovah or Jesus or Mithra or Shiva or Loki or whatever being you think responds to prayer. It's all you, man. If that sounds challenging, it's because it is, but you're also the best person for the job.

my prayers go with you but you need to check into rehab!!!
You need to get away from the influences that bring you down to the drugs.
Rehab is the answer and you need a good support group around you.
Talk to your wife and tell her of your problem and that you need a few weeks in a rehab center before you run afoul with the law, that will trully ruin your life
good luck and god speed
