Someone answered a question with this statement, and I was wondering how valid a point it is...
Thanks!

If you had a child that was messing up their lives, drugs or whatever. And they turned to God and started staightening out their lives. Of corse you would be happy because you love them. But what else would you feel? disapointed that it took God or just grateful?

Creationists promoting ID as an an alternative and 'competing' story of life in earth, are attacking the education systems in the UK, the US and elsewhere in the world. They are trying to put evolution and other valid sciences into obscurity with this theology. Is this not evidence of the inherent oppresive nature of religion?

Someone asked me the other day about a fourth wiseman that was in the bible, who didn't make it to see Jesus on this birth night, and who didn't see Jesus himself until he was dragging his cross the day of his death. Has anyone read this in the Bible? Has anyone even heard of this?

Why do believers post questions and answers here? Isn't being "right" good enough for them? It must be a faith thing, or a Jesus thing, or a Bible thing.

The kippah you use says much about you...
"In Israel wearing a kippah also has a social significance. While wearing a kippah shows that you are somewhat religious, notwearing one is like stating, "I'm not religious." The style of kippah in Israel can also indicate political and religious affiliations. Classical orthodoxy uses a large, smooth, black one shaped like a bowl. Many Hasidim use large black felt or satin, and a "rebellious son" may wear a slightly smaller black kippah to show his independence while remaining in the Classicist camp. Another play on this rebellion is to wear a knitted black kippah. This is also usually used to confuse people as to where you stand".

So.. if you wanna use a "neutral" kippah, wich kind of kippah would you use???

I don't believe in Sasquatch or Vampires, and I don't run around trying to convice those who believe otherwise they are not real - that would be silly. If someone comes to me talking about Sasquatch, I would just blow them off.

Why the hostility and confrontational attitude? Just chill out and use your energy for something you believe in.

If it really hits home in a meaningful way, it seems, people are less likely to give an answer, but they still take time to tell you it's not a good question...wierd.

Obviously they could not have been changed after Mohammed since there are around 5,300 manuscripts of the whole or part of the Greek text of the New Testament pre-dating Mohammed still in existence, including the Codex Vaticanus (325-350 AD) located in the Vatican library and the Codex Siniaticus (350 AD) located in the British Museum.
The Dead Sea Scrolls dated around 125 BC have bought to light manuscripts of the Old Testament books including the complete text of Isaiah. The Septuagint translation of the Hebrew text into Greek in around 165 BC also confirms the fact that there has been no change to the text of the Old Testament since that time.
there is nothing in the Koran saying this but there are verses saying the opposite, speaking highly of the Bible and advising Muslims to learn from Jews and Christians:
After presents a problem:
‘there is nothing in the Koran saying this but there are verses saying the opposite, speaking highly of the Bible and advising Muslims to learn from Jews and Christians:

‘And if thou (Mohammed) art in doubt concerning that which we reveal unto thee, then question those who read the scripture that was before thee’ (i.e. the Bible). Sura (chapter) 10.95. ‘O ye people of the book! Ye are not grounded on anything until ye observe the Taurat (Torah) and the Injil (Gospel) and that which has been revealed unto you from your Lord.’ Sura 5.68.

Yey God also states very clearly that he will forgive us our sins, and remember them no more. Is this not a contradiction?

It's apparently a bad thing but it's hard for me to see what it means. I understand what blaspheming God and Jesus are about but I've never thought about how one might go about this. Anyone willing to show me what it means?

1. That we are born sinless.

2. That we carry the sins of our forefathers.

One might say that god wrote the bible in terms that primitive men could understand. And that is why its stories and descriptions are laughable to anyone with a high school education today.

Okay, let's say you're right.

In that case wouldn't it behoove God to appear again, and give us a new bible? I mean, I'm sure the bible was easy to believe in 2000 years ago. But now it's not.

And that's not our fault. We're smarter now. It's not as easy for us to believe in the bible now. Why doesn't god clear this up for us?

Don't you agree that by all rights, god should in fact, give us an updated, factual bible, that does not contradict what we know of science and history? And if you think he shouldn't, why not?

Isn't it a dirty trick for him to play on us, allowing us to see facts that disprove his word, and then expecting us to believe it?

Is it just me or does anyone else realize that only those that are christian are mostly the people getting offended by Happy holidays? I don't seem to see alot of other people (non-christians) really caring about this whole greeting thing at all. Non-christians are not the ones making the fuss for the most part. For example, who made the fuss when Walmart started saying Happy holidays? I assure you, it was not Jews or Hindus or Buddhists etc.

Should I raise heck because Sears won't say Happy Yule? Should Jewish folks get their panties tied in a knot because Kohl's does not say Happy Hanukkah? Honestly, WHO is really making the fuss here???
