I don't believe in Sasquatch or Vampires, and I don't run around trying to convice those who believe otherwise they are not real - that would be silly. If someone comes to me talking about Sasquatch, I would just blow them off.

Why the hostility and confrontational attitude? Just chill out and use your energy for something you believe in.

when we are hostile about something it is to hide the truth, evade, ignorance, or we are just evil. People who do not believe in God and insult him are one of the above. i do not see a reason for all the insults and criticism. I am not Buddhist but i would never insult other believers of the faith. or any other culture of religion for the matter. It is known that most non believers in God actually seek his guidance and want to learn about him, hence, they use hostility to hide their intentions. This is nothing new as the world already know this. They are fighting off God because they have denied him all their lives and what better way to hide the truth and deny their own ambiguity but to be critical and hostile? God will come into their lives. they cant fight him off forever and the sooner they realize this, the better they will be. I keep asking myself why is there such hate with Atheists towards God. God has never done anything to them, neither has Christians. Were does this attitude come from? and Why? How can they be upset over something that they consider doesnt exist? For them to carry this hostility around, they have to believe there is a God. They can make themselves believe otherwise, but Christians know the truth. I just dont understand why everyone cannot have their own belief or faith. Why do we have to go around insulting each other's Gods and religion just because we feel it is not acceptale to us?

It's kinda hard when people like you are in our faces. There are a lot more people that believe in God than believe in Sasquatch and Vampires. How would you like it if the majority of people in your society believed in Sasquatch, and then tried to force their beliefs on you? At the same time their doing that, they will claim that YOU are the one trying to force your beliefs on them ! I think then you will understand the hostility and confrontational attitude.

I don't give Deities any attention but I am interested in the truth and if I choose to search for it who are you to deny me?

I'm not hostile at all to those who would help others but I will defend the truth. I like to listen to free flowing ideas don't you? Don't you find fresh ideas stimulating?

I don't have to believe in a God but it is a good idea to listen to other's ideas, who knows I might find out soemthing I don't yet know, I may be able to help somebody in need, I might find a friend....would you deny me those things....surely you're not that close minded....

Is this a free society? Is this forum christian only and every one else bugger off? Or does the title say Religion & Spirituality?...Is this a closed society or can any spiritual person listen, learn and maybe close the gap of ignorance....

I'm not giving a God any attention by joining this forum, I'm trying to understand other human beings like you....you're making it a bit difficult....why do you get defensive in a question like that when I haven't been given a chance to participate?

I think everyone has a god of some sort. One person's god is knowledge, the other the exalting of the self, others fame, others men/women, others money, and others in various forms of their Supreme Being. There are those on both sides of the fence that have a political agenda. That is their god, to be right. others post negative stuff on here because they are so lonely and empty inside, they will do anything to get attention, even bad attention. The better question is to ask yourself, who or what is your god?

How original. If you follow the usual form, you'll Best Answer one of the answers from Christians that slags atheists and says that we're really trying to be theists but are deluded, misguided, or otherwise in denial.

If you're really singing from that hymn sheet, you'll probably put something in your comments to the effect of "I just can't imagine how anyone could not love God as much as I do/read my wonderfully enlightening questions and not come to the sudden realization that I'm right/etc." Which ignores the answers from the atheists. Not that we could possibly have a clue as to what we're thinking now, eh?

Your analogy isn't quite on point. Believers in vampires, etc. don't comprise a large number of the population. Nor do they have any power to affect laws.

And technically I don't give god much attention. It's the followers that sometimes catch my attention!

People who don't believe in God are not concerned about God.

They are concerned about people who claim to speak for God and wish to control their lives and take away their individual freedoms.

There aren't many people who claim to speak for Sasquatch.

Wowie! It's because people have taken to affecting the world based on this reprehensible fictional character, that's why. If most of the people in America thought vampires were real, and that they were the bee's knees and were biting people, it would be a similar problem and, likewise, worth combatting.

Hm, maybe if you were surrounded by vampire worshippers, you would be concerned either. And if the vampire worshippers would always be evangelizing, and spreading their "truths", and demanding that their "truths" be taught in school, and deriving ethic principles from their faith in vampires, you might even start an argument about it. Or wouldn't you?

Because I like to know things before deciding about them. What's the worth of critisizing an author without reading any of his books? You chill out an look at the logic.
