If God was a physically manifested entity, he would need be in some particular location at a particular time (he would have to be confined to the time\space dimensions). This God would intervine everytime a human commited a crime\injustice against another human being, but knowing of this Gods existence people would be a little more fearfull of offending\displeasing this God, would that not then rule out their free will and limit their behaviour and actions?

so why do we proceed conclude that our theory is any better than someone elses theory?

I have a lot of hindu friends, and know mos of them are vegetarians or vegans. Some eat all emat except beef, rather discreetly. I am going to entertain some hindu guests and was goig to make a vegetarian entree, but then thought of this:

I understand cows are sacred so no beef; but why no chicken or other meats, and why no eggs?

It's yet another thing that I have been thinking about... I want to find purpose, and (as you can see from my past questions) I am slowly realizing that there is a purpose to life... How do I find mine? What can I give to human beings? Is there anything I can do to make this world a better place? Do these sound like rhetorical questions that are seemingly impossible to answer? Do I have a purpose that nobody else can fulfill in this world? Am I the only person who feels like I was destined for greatness, but I can't figure out how to do it? Christianity does not interest me that much, because I was raised Christian and already know a good bit about it.

I want to know more about other religions and their god/s or deities and there beliefs. Does anyone know of some good websites or books about various religions or specific religions?

I just want to learn more about the religion. I don't want to be preached to in a book or at a site; that irritates me. I just want information.

From what little I know about the Eastern religions, I find them to be interesting. The concept of reincarnation especially interests me.

A book which is recommended does not have to be strictly information, it could be a story with a lot of useful information about the religion. I read Herman Hesse's Siddhartha and liked it.

Don't forget about mythology and the ancient Greek and Roman beliefs. (I personally recommend anything Joe Campbell has done to those interested in mythology.)

And please, no mud slinging!!
