In a way..yes. Jesus Christ fulfilled the covenant which the Jews could not and did not keep themselves. The old covenant was broken by the Jews, God made a new covenant with the Jews and also the whole world (Gentiles) by Jesus Christ.

Most actions of the Jews before the time of Jesus were complaints about the laws He handed down to Moses and their lives have never been that flourishing after the reign of King Solomon. Jewish tribes was divided between Israel and Judah. Both have fallen from the hands of several Empires and the last of which was Rome. Whoever overtook them, they become exiles and wandered almost everywhere around the world and those who stayed were taken out of their own government controlled by the ruling Empire. They did not realize that they were under Curse by God because of their stubborn and obstinate nature against God. Jesus coming was supposed to bring Israel back to their senses and be one nation again under God. However, there were changes that was introduced by Jesus to the conservative Jews that made them feel he broke the Laws handed down to Moses and committed blasphemy by claiming he is a Son of God, Breaking the Sabbath Observation and claiming to be Lord of the Sabbath. The Jews did not believe him to be sent by God anymore with those changes. The Romans on the other hand have seen Jesus becoming a threat to their government and they took that opportunity to stop Jesus at any cost before his popularity could ignite a revolution of the Jews against Rome. The punishment received by Jesus from the hands of the Jews was made evident by the rods and floggings done against him. And God was clear about what will happen to those whom He will call His Son but will disobey his commands. (2 Samuel 7:13-14). The crucifixion part is a Roman way of punishing and humiliating anyone who will try to instigate rebellions against them and the criminals found guilty of other major crime.
To answer your question, yes it is true that the Jews broke their covenant with God but sadly Jesus even broke it further. Hence the curse continue up to this present generation......www.thename.ph

Jesus came to save sinners- and God had this planned since the beginning of time. For John 1:1 says "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God"

--The OT has much prophesy leading up to the coming of Jesus Christ...and salvation through Him.

He was sent to redeem humanity from the Original Sin. Adam and Eve broke the covenant (Not the Jews specifically).

When he came, he gave us baptism for the redemption of sins.

No.Jesus is the 'seed' first mentioned at Gen.3:15.The first prophecy uttered as a result of the rebellion in Eden.Adam and Eve were created perfect and designed to live forever. When they sinned, they lost all that not only for themselves but for all mankind.
Jesus came to earth as a perfect man(Adam was also a perfect man)to offer his perfect life as a propitiatory sacrifice,in order to buy back everlasting life for obedient mankind.John3:16,17:3

It was the fulfilment of a promise.

Besides even when we are unfaithful, God is still faithful. He can not deny Himself.

So if the Jews broke the covenant, God remembers His promise to Abraham, Issac, David, etc. etc.

Jesus came for all of us, to defeat satan and death, through him we have internal life in him if we choose to accept it, if not thats that individual's choice. Without him we would all be in hell, he was the sacrificial lamb the perfect sacrifice for all of us, and thank God he was!!! :)
