so why do we proceed conclude that our theory is any better than someone elses theory?
Shouldnt we spend the time being respectful, loving, humble, courteous, be charitable, be compassionate, give service. and not being boastful, bitter, angry, critical, proud, greedy?

Exactly, thank you! I completely agree! I am sad to say that it is human nature to feel the need to be right and accepted at the same time. My husband has a saying that he laughs about. "Do you want to be right? OR do you want to be happy?" I think that works here. Blessings to you!

We may not be able to prove that the earth was created not evolved, but we can show how things fit into the Bible account and show evolution is wrong.
Like woolly mammoths with tropical food in their mouths and stomachs. How does a mammoth get tropical food in a ice age? The Bible says that there was an ice shield over the earth, and that is what came down in the flood.
A mammoth at -100 F would freeze the outside 10 inches or so quiet quickly, but then that ice would act as insulation, and then would freeze more slowly, giving the stomach time to digest the food in it, and also allow the body to start to rot.
Ice at -300 F has a magnetic property, and it would be pulled to the magnetic poles of the earth. That is why the ice cap was centered on the magnetic pole and not the axis. A mammoth would be frozen to the core very quickly at this temperature and thus preserving the food in the stomach.
And there are many other examples of why the Bible is correct and evolution is in error.

I agree with the guy who said "We can't prove it so every theory is as good as every other theory?"
Credulity is entirely a matter of education - incidentally, at times, of very specialized education. There were plenty of so-called educated people who thought airplanes impossible. But engineers who had studied the subject thoroughly were not among them. So far as any such person was incredulous, it would be a very modified incredulity. He would say, "The problem cannot be solved unless we can get an engine developing a certain ratio of power to weight, and unless we can get a material of a certain proportion of strength to weight; and I doubt whether we shall be able to find such." This sort of incredulity is perfectly reasonable, and is immediately destroyed by new evidence. The common incredulity or credulity of the ignorant and prejudiced classes is simply not worth discussion. "Belief is literally a matter of taste"; but only among people who are so intellectually inferior that they have never taught themselves to think.

There are ways to evaluate the quality and usefulness of a theory. It is not always the answer to one question that is the importasnt part. The theories that drive cosmology have been very useful indeed.

Well, some theories are surely better than others. The theory that it came from a serpent that was split in 2 is obviously not as "good" as the big bang.

But all theories aren't equally likely. The theory that Kim Jong Ill is really god and manufactured the universe in a secret bunker is less likely than Big Bang.

[Quote] "We all agree that the universe was created by God the Flying Spaghetti Monster . He did it by wiggling His noodley appendages. Ramen !"[Quote]
That was halarious.
I agree, no one can prove how it came to be. We will know once we die and cross over to the other side. It's sad, but our subconscious already knows the answer to this question.... if only we could access that knowledge.

Yes. I agree that both are theories. Neither can be proven by the scientific method. Ultimately, the issue of first cause is up to the individual.

Regardless darlin! we all should behave in that manner and more. How we got here, where we are going, isn't the "main" road, it is the "in between" that makes a "man/woman". So watch how deeply you leave Your Footprints in the sand! Merry Christmas. ps: a quote from my mother: "if you can't say something nice, Don't say anything at all"!

Actually no. My theory doesn't involve beliefs that cause people to be prejudiced and bigoted. My theory wins on simply a matter of being less blood-thirsty.
