then how were the aliens created?

I would suggest highly that all the members of the R & S section run out and rent, "What the Bleep." It will impact your view of reality and perhaps leave you with the conclusion that I drew from it with regard to religion. Being,

It's All Correct. It's All Right. It's All True.

The film deals with Quantum Physics and how this impacts us personally as well as our physical reality. What astonished me was that it proves what the ancient Vedic Seers proposed. Our reality is an illusion. Consequenly, what we firmly believe becomes our reality - therefore we are the creators of our own reality.

As a result of this mind-opening experience, I've decided not to participate in the continual fighting that goes on here over what religion is the ultimate truth. It's true for the one who believes it's true. They create their own reality so it is true within that reality. So, to leave you with a question,

Given that you are a creator, the one and only creator of your reality,

Are members of the Jehovah's Witnesses brainwashed into thinking their religion and their beliefs are the only and absolute "truths"?

Do members receive anything when they find someone who agrees to do a "Bible Study"?

Why do they pressure someone to "convert"? Do members receive something when someone they "brought in" "converts"?

All homosexuals are not religious and should not profess to be christian/muslim whatever! I don't care what they do in their personal lives....just cause they were born into a religious family does not mean they can say i'm a "christian gay" or whatever!A christian by definition cannot be a homosexual!

"In a 1982 survey of 68 major scienttific journals showed that of the 135,000 scientific manuscripts submitted to these journals only 18 were on creation "science". Not one of these 18 manuscripts was of suitable standard for publication." If creation "science" wants to be taught along side real science in schools shouldn't its research be able to stand up to the scrutiny and inquiry of other scientists and be eligible for publication in main stream science journals? Is it the case that creation "science" is bunkum?

I took a required evolutionary biology class in college couple yrs ago... and I didnt quite disregard my faith but it made me ask more questions. I know the christian and muslim faiths are similar in the evolution of man. My question is that is there a compromise with either of the two? Or maybe an explanation? Please dont respond with the 'dont ask questions just believe' answers. Thanks

I think it's good to remember how many women stood beneath the cross with Jesus compared to how many men did. Do you agree?

My husband, a moderate Muslim and I were fine for 7 yrs with little religious conflict. Of course, he encouraged me to convert to Islam, brought me reading materials, etc but that's all. I don't believe in any organized religions as he knew from our first date. Now his adult/almost adult kids live with us 24/7 b/c their mother is ill. They are here for good and much more extreme Muslims. From Africa, the boys make comments about how “American women have too much freedom!”, “Anytime women work together there will be many, many problems”. They tell me the "bad" ways of Christians and ANY non-Muslims. People who smoke, drink wine etc. are openly judged as “bad”/“evil”. YET they will ONLY watch VIOLENT movies. Yet if a husband/wife do a 3 second kiss in an airport they fast forward the DVD, act offended/repulsed at the “unclean actions”. YET when we leave home they (males 18, 20) order xxx hardcore PORN! I'm thinking WTF? Do I confront the this...or try to ignore it tho it enrages me...?

Its easy to criticise someone for making the effort and putting guidance in their life through faith. Its easy to criticise them when they cannot immediately and evidently prove God's existence upon demand.

But with so many real problems in the world. (Global warming) Why don't you allow people to follow their faith and get on with changing the 'real' world so many of you believe in?

Isaiah 30:26 (A reference to the light of heaven) 'Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the sun and the light of the sun shall be seven fold (49) as the light of seven days. Therefore heaven recieves 50 times the radiation from the sun as we do. using Stefan-Boltzman fouth power law for radiation the temperature of Heaven is calculated as 525 degrees C. Hell is made, as we all know, contains fire and brimstone. Brimstone (Sulpher) liquifies at 444 degrees C. You want to go to heaven? Why??????

Which I know it is, I live there. Why do most people still get their children Christened?

I'm expecting my first child now and hubby wants she/he christening (it doesnt bother me) as its a family tradition. Do you think thats the only reason people have it done?

I know from my point of view it makes life easier in the long run, say the child grows up and wants to get married in a church or be a God-Parent etc, they need to have been Christened and it saves them going through the humiliation of having it done as adults!

Just wondering what others thought on the subject.

Don't you hate it when someone claims they know and understand something yet they haven't even read or study'd what you have. Ex. Christians constantly tell me Richard Dawkins is an Idiot..yet have never read one of his books. Im sure it goes the same way for some Christians who talk to Atheists who have never read the bible. Me personally I have read the bible countless times and understand it fully...thats why I don't believe. But don't we all agree that we should at least really attempt to see the other side of the story before we argue?

I heard someone on the History Channel say that God didn't part the Red Sea, but instead two tsunami waves occured in that spot, going opposite directions, at the same moment, and thus created a path through the sea.

Recently I heard someone claiming Jesus didn't walk on water - he walked on a sheet of ice and the disciples mistook it for walking on water (still I don't see how they expalin why the disciples were out on a boat in a frozen lake and how Peter fell through but Jesus did not)

Of course others claim Jesus did not die on the cross, but after being stabbed in the heart he relaxed in the tomb for a couple days then apparently got bored and finally decided to come out and walk around.

What do you guys think?

But we know that turd is real, so why don't we all just gather on a huge piece of crap? you tell me, not that i would want to do that YUCK

Half of my family is Christian, and they actually agree with me on this. Does anyone else find the demeanor of most Christians extremely arrogant?
"It's my religion or none, if you don't believe you're damned. I'm trying to help you."
Personally, I feel that's a load of crap and they are driving me even further from close even wanting to have a shadow of a discussion with any of them. Suddenly if you're not Christian, you're a bad person. (This is a pet peeve of mine, sorry. I'd like to use this as an outlet to vent as well as discover the opinions of others)
I'd like to be more accepting, but they make it so difficult when they say something ridiculous, like I'm going to some ficticious Hell because I don't believe in THEIR religion. They also seem to think that they can fix all of the worldly issues. Many wars are CAUSED by conflicting religious groups, so I'm having a lot of difficulty buying into their whole "Religion can fix the world ideal."
Does anyone else think that we would
