Of course not. The church chose the end of December in order to overshadow the pagan holiday which occurs at the same time. In order to stamp out paganism they had to become like paganism to get the pagans interested. Then they said "look... we've got everything you've got, but it's better! Our one deity is so much better and you can keep your holidays! Woo hoo!"

Ok, the december the 25th thing is because thats roughly when pagans did, and still do celebrate 'yule' a festrival of light of all sorts, and tjhe vast majority of todays so called christmas traditions are taken directly from that. According to the bible, jesus died in april aged 33 and a half..6 months before april is november.

Good observvation about the sheep. Its was probablly in the fall like late september or early october. If you look in history you fimd that John the baptist. was concived in About june. Zacharias Johns dad was working in the temple around june july. After that John was concived. Then six months later John's anut has concived Jesus. Wich means Jesus was concived in january. Born around the fall.
Read Luke 1

Another piont The city was packed so the had Jesus in a barn. Why was the city packed it was the feast of tabernacles aroud that time of year keep by Jews and true followers of God. Every one was going to the city to celebrate the feast.

Really it doesn't matter when he was born. We aren't supposed to remember his birth we are supposed to remember his death and scrafice for us. And to saying it is right because it is symbolic is crazy too.
Mr 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

Jesus died at the passover or last supper Nisan 14. he was 33 1/2 years old. count six months forward and you can get Oct. so Jesus was born sometime in Oct. not DEC. DEC 25 is a pagan holiday. also in dec it is the rainy and cold season so the shepards would not be out in the fields with the sheep.

Nope.

"The date of Christmas Day is determined by various traditions rather than relying on historical research, which generally points to dates earlier in the year. Of those scholars who believe in a historical Jesus, the vast majority of them agree that the precise birthdate is unknown."

"It was a custom of the Pagans to celebrate on the same 25 December the birthday of the Sun, at which they kindled lights in token of festivity. In these solemnities and revelries the Christians also took part. Accordingly when the doctors of the Church perceived that the Christians had a leaning to this festival, they took counsel and resolved that the true Nativity should be solemnised on that day."

---

The date doesn't even matter - most of the "Christian holidays"/"prayers"/"rituals" were changed to try and appeal to pagans.

According to the Births, Deaths and Marriage Records from the Qumran Library(part of the Dead Sea Scrolls) Jesus was born on the 1st of March 7B.C.(Gregorian) in a place called Mird just outside Qumran.

December 25 is the date of the Mithric Cult's main God's birth date. The Mithric Cult was the religion that was very much practiced by the Roman's especially the Roman soldiers. SO where the Roman Army was so was the rituals of the Mithric Cult. The main center of this religion was Tarsus... and Paul and his father although they were Jewish, also because they were merchants, had to deal with the Romans so they also knew all about the Mithric Religion. Paul was very quick to paste the story of Jesus Christ unto the religion of the Mithric Cult and he went around the northern areas of the Roman empire to preach and that is why he got so many converts, because he taught that Jesus was the Savior and not the main God of the Mithric Cult, but he did not dispute the birthday and kept it ... SO... December is the day we celebrate Jesus's birth although he was born on a different day... Many Christian religions put his birth around August...our present day August... hope this helps... Oh... by the way if you want more info about the Mithric Cult... go to: www.Mithric Cult.com and you will learn what this religion was about... it no longer exists but its history is interesting. Good Luck! PS... That is why Peter and Paul did not get along... because Paul used the modified Mithric Cult to teach about Jesus.

It is generally agreed that Jesus was not born on December 25. At one point in time, there was a pagan holiday that was converted to remember the birth of Christ instead of celebrate pagan gods. I think that is where the observence of Christ's birth on December 25 originated.

Would not have a clue . But there have always been religious celebrations in the Northern hemisphere around the time of the Winter Solstice. All to do with much older religions. if you are interested in Celtic stuff you will find that most dates fit into our old calenders of seasons. Interesting isn"t it the religion of man just happens merge with Mother Earth type indigenous cultures. Good propaganda I say but you may feel differently.

Scientists have been looking into this very question for many years (at *least* for decades), and have determined that Jesus was actually born some time in the summer or early fall. Or at least, that's the last that I heard of it. December 25th was chosen to celebrate his birthday because this is the longest dark day of the year -- Jesus is often depicted as "the light of the world," so thus every day after his "birthday," each day gets brighter and brighter.
