It has for me...at first I was just a passive deist, but with all this discussion, I've really found myself as corny as that sounds. I have very open agnosticism, but no respect for religion beyond its metaphorical aspects.

This is part one to another question to follow. Please give an explaination to this question and be honest. If there is a reference in the Quran or other source list it. I am looking for a LOGICAL explaination in reference to Allah and how we were made.

Honestly, What have you read (book titles), who has taught you (Positions and titles), and what media have you searched (internet links) that have taught you what you know about the Mormons religion?

Im curious because I have a theory that there are two groups of people when it comes to Mormonism. Those who are opposed to it, and those who are for it (in the religious community). And the two groups VERY rarely cross each other. Those who are against it, only read and studdy how it is wrong never looking to see if it holds any truth. And those who are for it, only studdy why it is true never questioning any aspect, only really looking for more sources to rebuttle the "Anti's" with.

So those of you Against mormons, Have you ever tried to understand it (reading the book or mormon, Mormon Doctrine of Diety, Hugh Nibley, BH Roberts) open mindedly?

Those for Mormonism, have you ever read Anti-material (The God makers, and various other material on the internet) to try and disprove it?

Maybe you heard about the "Jesus Camp" where young children are exposed to Christianity and encouraged (some say pressured) to accept Christ, confess sins, worship to a picture of President Bush, etc. (to see a video on it: www.youtube.com/ watch?v=7UWIb4FwHPg).

Do you think there is (or should be) a certain age under which evangelism shouldn't be allowed? Is it unethical? Pointless? Exploitative? None of the above?

Obviously parents should decide this for their own kids but I am referring to times when parental consent isn't given or available.

Did you see 'Jesus Christ" today ?

Seems like an odd question, except that Jesus Christ stated, 'that which you do to the 'least' of mine you do unto me', suggests that God has allowed you the opportunity to show your love of God by doing good to those who least can afford to return the favor.

An ingenious method of finding one's true love of others.

So did you see "Jesus Christ' today, and what did you do for him or her ?

And i got a bunch of slanderous answers saying how im going to hell and how every mormons is mislead and doesn't think for themselves.

Then i posted the questions and their answers in another "Question" asking why when ever i mention "Mormon" it's automatic hate... saying that christians have no right to put down anyone or any religion. And seeing as how they have no knowlege of Mormonism outside of what their biased pastors have told them, that they need not promote more bias-ness.

And then i was reported to yahoo for having an offensive Question.

What's that all about?

You claim you do. You walk with him and whisper to him and share your secret sexual fantasies with him. I know, Ive heard the whole thing.

I gave it a go, but oddly, I never had this relationship. Naturally, I felt bad, because others claimed to have had a personal relationship where they were talking with God.

Once I cornered these people and asked for specifics about this relationship, it was almost always a 'reading the tea leaves' experience. Stuff like "I asked God whether I should marry her, and the next day I got into an accident..so, the choice was clear...God clearly spoke".

Now, on occasion, you would have people so bold as to say they were audibly hearing God. This was a great gimmick because it immediately conferred onto the person a high spirtual level. After all, God was directly speaking to them, and so long as they delievered this story with some skill, they were off and running in to social heirachy.

A burglar breaks into a house, he's looking for the safe when he hears a voice.....
"Jesus is watching you!"
In panic he spins round and his torch illuminates a parrot.
"Was that you? did you say that?" exclaims the thief.
"Yes it was me,and Jesus is still watching you!" says the bird.
"I couldn't give a toss for your Jesus, but you might be worth something. You got a name?"
"Moses" the parrot replies.
"Moses? what kind of religious idiot calls a parrot Moses?"says the burglar with a laugh.
The parrot caws and winks...." The same idiot that calls the Rottwieler Jesus!"

The Apostle's Creed mentions this quite explicitly... Do you agree with this view?

"I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; HE DESCENDED INTO HELL; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty…"
