You if you read 2Chronicles13:2, it says Michaiah (daughter of Uriel) is King Abijah’s mom; but 2 Chronicles11:20 says Maschah (daughter of Absalom) is his mom; but then again Absalom had only one daughter, Tamar! (2 samuel 14:27).

I was rasied Catholic, consider myself Christian. But feel I don't need to be in a religion. I feel God didn't want us to be in groups, groups usually always have problems with one another.

I go to what ever Church I feel like droping in on at that time, and usually with out a care on the religion, knowing that this is God's house for all, or I know I can reach him no matter where I go. So why then should I care what religion I am. Having a personal relationship with God is more important than religion. Other religions think it's all about thier regilion to where we should all be worshiping God together as one family. I hope this doesn't start a war.... I just felt I needed to stress my point.

Dear God, help us to see others and ourselves with the eyes of your love. May we live as your new creation to you in Jesus Christ. Amen.

I mean hello?? Even if you're religious!! A toy in Jesus' or Moses' shapes? A toy that says "I'm the only way...etc" or "Thou shalt not commit adultery"??? Do children have to know about "adultery" so early in age? Do little children kill, to ask them not to? Or "Not to covet their neighbor's wife"???!!! That's crazy!
What's you opinion on this?

---P.S: I'm not religious, but doesn't the 2 nd commandment say not to make images this way? They offend both Christians and non-Christians!

Basically, if a creator does not exist, then we are all random quirks of nature, and whether we live of die, matters not in the grand scheme of nature. Atheism has led to terrible political systems that have killed millions of people in body and spirit.

Religionism is when a group of people gets political power or influence over a group of believers (inquisition, witch trials, islamic terrorists, Jim Jones, etc.), versus freedom of religion and personal faith.

It seems that both atheism and religionism (fundementalism) need to be intellectually shown to have no merit.

My Astrophysics professor often referred to a physics concept called the one to one transition in trying to convey it to a volitional concept: a level of consistancy of thought and action, that if taught to a receptive audience could be tranferred to the extent that the receiving party would think and act in a similar, if not equal manner as to the originator of such ideals. The goal, therefore, was an equal transmission of one to one; a duplicate of the original for all intents and purposes.

My contention is that through God's son, He, God transmitted His knowlege of ALL to His son, in a similar manner that an earthly father might try to raise his son to be like him, ie. a chip off the old block. However, in God's case, unlike the earthly father, ten's of thousands of years were involved to cultivate this transfer, not an earthly 40 or 50 years, and therefore the transition was an almost exact duplicate, falling short in only the category of The Creator.

I'm probably blastpheming to a lot of people - but I honestly don't believe we do, however I wanted to ask a wider audience.

Why can't we just believe in ourselves and find our own centre or harmony to get through life? Why can't we just rely upon our friends and our families? - instead of a book that we even don't really know is true or not. By book I mean the Bible, Koran and other religeous texts which all claim to be from the one true God (how many one true Gods are there?).

If there is a 'one true God' - wouldn't he be happy we lived our lives within the laws of society and that we found ourselves and could all live in harmony rather than the "follow me or be damned to hell" approach; with the typical repent clause for your deathbed for instant salvation.

This post is not intended to offend or insult anyone and I respect each individuals views on religion. I'm just curious myself to what other peoples take on this are; both for and against.

Why do Atheiests type in scripture to use against Christians, but yet do not believe the Bible?
If you use it then you must have some belief in the Words, or maybe there is a belief there, however you cannot understand it?

Can Atheists use regular language, please?

Beleivers, feel free to quote.

i have asked a few questions about what worries me about islam, but this seems just to put muslims on the defensive, and not open up...so..
ill put the question the other way round, so muslims can be positive in their replies.
i would prefer in depth replies with some substance rather than a one sentence reply
anyway..

what do muslims think they would actually lose, if [hypothetically] their culture was to become totally westernised [not what is bad about western culture- but what things about their own culture that they value most, would they hate to lose?]
