My Astrophysics professor often referred to a physics concept called the one to one transition in trying to convey it to a volitional concept: a level of consistancy of thought and action, that if taught to a receptive audience could be tranferred to the extent that the receiving party would think and act in a similar, if not equal manner as to the originator of such ideals. The goal, therefore, was an equal transmission of one to one; a duplicate of the original for all intents and purposes.
My contention is that through God's son, He, God transmitted His knowlege of ALL to His son, in a similar manner that an earthly father might try to raise his son to be like him, ie. a chip off the old block. However, in God's case, unlike the earthly father, ten's of thousands of years were involved to cultivate this transfer, not an earthly 40 or 50 years, and therefore the transition was an almost exact duplicate, falling short in only the category of The Creator.

My reasons for posing this question is that I read of so much confusion as to the issue of whether or not God is a separate entity from His Son. This thinking does not follow Biblical text at all. These are TWO distinct separate beings. They are NOT one in the same being. They APPEAR to act as one, because of what I contend is an almost indiscernible distinction of one from the other, as stated above in the analogy of the one to one distinction.
Jesus often appears as God, for in fact He is Godly: He is the only begotten Son of God! In verse He, Jesus, often states, "these are not my words, but those of my father" or "it you hear me, you hear the father". Jesus is giving credit to His Father for the wisdom from where He speaks, and in following the Commandment of God which states, "Honor thy father and thy mother." On earth, in an earthly form, Jesus lived the commandments by example, and we in turn, as professing Christians, are taught to do likewise: Live the Commandments.

It should probably be stated that God's intent with His chosen people who spent forty years in the wilderness, along with the Temple He had them construct, and the laws surrounding the Sanctuary, that He was trying to convey His Commandments to a receptive audience.
Everything they did; every waking moment of the day, was in complete cooperation with God's commandments. Every infraction; i.e. sin or back sliding, was dealt with on a daily basis with severe restrictions, and all in the community was aware of each others' teachings. Sin was made public before their peers. Brother was taught to be the others keeper. Under these strict conditions - in forty years, the nation of Israel became one with God on a primitive level, but none the less, far superior to the pagans they found themselves confronting when they came out of the wilderness. This was a very focused, single directional people that came forth.

Tammy R. Ah more confussion. I used the word transition, not transmission. Secondly, while you are right that the Word was WITH God before the creation of this world, the Bible does not imply that they are one, but makes the destinction that they are separate by saying "our" and "us". Us & our means more than one. As for the Holy Spirit of God or the Holy Sprit of Jesus, both of these are possessive of one or the other. Their (again, plural) holy (because they are Holy) spirit dwells within us. This false belief that the Holy spirit is a separate and distinct entity goes back to Babylonian times, ie. the three in one gods. It is the spirit OF THE Heavenly Father that dwells in us, for which the Bible texts speak of. The Godhead IS the Father AND the Son; two distinct and separate entities doing or acting out the same course of action because of the successful one to one transition. The time table of millions of years makes our limited abilty hard to grasp this subject matter.
