My Astrophysics professor often referred to a physics concept called the one to one transition in trying to convey it to a volitional concept: a level of consistancy of thought and action, that if taught to a receptive audience could be tranferred to the extent that the receiving party would think and act in a similar, if not equal manner as to the originator of such ideals. The goal, therefore, was an equal transmission of one to one; a duplicate of the original for all intents and purposes.

My contention is that through God's son, He, God transmitted His knowlege of ALL to His son, in a similar manner that an earthly father might try to raise his son to be like him, ie. a chip off the old block. However, in God's case, unlike the earthly father, ten's of thousands of years were involved to cultivate this transfer, not an earthly 40 or 50 years, and therefore the transition was an almost exact duplicate, falling short in only the category of The Creator.

My reasons for posing this question is that I read of so much confusion as to the issue of whether or not God is a separate entity from His Son. This thinking does not follow Biblical text at all. These are TWO distinct separate beings. They are NOT one in the same being. They APPEAR to act as one, because of what I contend is an almost indiscernible distinction of one from the other, as stated above in the analogy of the one to one distinction.

Jesus often appears as God, for in fact He is Godly: He is the only begotten Son of God! In verse He, Jesus, often states, "these are not my words, but those of my father" or "it you hear me, you hear the father". Jesus is giving credit to His Father for the wisdom from where He speaks, and in following the Commandment of God which states, "Honor thy father and thy mother." On earth, in an earthly form, Jesus lived the commandments by example, and we in turn, as professing Christians, are taught to do likewise: Live the Commandments.

It should probably be stated that God's intent with His chosen people who spent forty years in the wilderness, along with the Temple He had them construct, and the laws surrounding the Sanctuary, that He was trying to convey His Commandments to a receptive audience.

Everything they did; every waking moment of the day, was in complete cooperation with God's commandments. Every infraction; i.e. sin or back sliding, was dealt with on a daily basis with severe restrictions, and all in the community was aware of each others' teachings. Sin was made public before their peers. Brother was taught to be the others keeper. Under these strict conditions - in forty years, the nation of Israel became one with God on a primitive level, but none the less, far superior to the pagans they found themselves confronting when they came out of the wilderness. This was a very focused, single directional people that came forth.

Tammy R. Ah more confussion. I used the word transition, not transmission. Secondly, while you are right that the Word was WITH God before the creation of this world, the Bible does not imply that they are one, but makes the destinction that they are separate by saying "our" and "us". Us & our means more than one. As for the Holy Spirit of God or the Holy Sprit of Jesus, both of these are possessive of one or the other. Their (again, plural) holy (because they are Holy) spirit dwells within us. This false belief that the Holy spirit is a separate and distinct entity goes back to Babylonian times, ie. the three in one gods. It is the spirit OF THE Heavenly Father that dwells in us, for which the Bible texts speak of. The Godhead IS the Father AND the Son; two distinct and separate entities doing or acting out the same course of action because of the successful one to one transition. The time table of millions of years makes our limited abilty hard to grasp this subject matter.

Your question is interesting. Unlike many, you have captured a glimpse of the concept of how Jesus could be God's "Son".

My conception is that Jesus was God in a "human suit". He was exactly like what the Father would look like if He appeared in human form - which He did! The Bible says He was "the express image of the Father", hence the concept of God's Son. Don't sons look like their fathers? Don't they come from their fathers' seed?

The Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary and cause His "lifeforce" to join with Mary's egg. There is a scientific process in nature whereby the egg cell can grow into a living creature without a physical sperm cell uniting with it. Hence Jesus Christ was "born" of God.

I believe Christ did have to absorb His divine personality and purpose from this human life within the space of 33 years. However, to many Bible scholars, time has no limitation on Him - exhibited by several theophanies, (or appearances of Christ,) outside of His allotted "timeline", as in His appearance as Melchizedek.

I believe Jesus Christ's full recognition of who He was came when He was baptized by John and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in the form of a dove. This represents "The Baptism of the Holy Spirit" as spoken of in Acts 2:17, as an example how we, too, can be filled with God's Spirit.

Jesus Himself said, "I and the Father are ONE". (John 10:30)
If you have seen me, you have seen the Father. (John 14:9)

It is true that Jesus Christ was with God before the creation of the world, and described as a "separate entity". In the book of John it describes Christ as being the Word, and that the Word was with God, and WAS God. (John 1:1-3)

In Proverbs, Wisdom personifies itself as being the "architect" at God's side when He created the universe. I believe this is a key in understanding how God delighted in His Son as they had fun creating everything together. To our limited understanding it is difficult to understand how Beings can be One and yet separate individuals. According to the original Hebrew when God created Adam He said, "Let US make man in our own image", therefore He was addressing someone besides Himself. The Hebrew word Elohim expresses this. It means "God" in a plural sense.

As mentioned previously, the book of John in the Bible describes Christ as the "Word". (John 1:1-3).

I do believe that Christ was God's translation or "transmission" of communication to us in a way that we could understand who He really is. As it has been said before, if you want to communicate with ants, what do you do? Become an ant!

Those who seek the Lord with all their hearts can not only find Him but can also be filled with Him, as in Jesus' example to us.* We may make mistakes, unlike Christ, because we are human. However, I believe He was showing us a pattern, of how to be Godly. Love was the key to everything! Being filled with God's Spirit and walking with Him day to day is a key to unlimited power** and knowledge, depending on how much you want of Him, and how much you make room within yourself, for His personality.

The study of physics and cosmology can help our understanding of the universe. However, they can only reflect the spiritual realities that are already there. I believe physics has finally come full circle. Besides Isaac Newton, where often many physicists did not believe in God now many do. With the appearance of "string theory" and "multiple" or "parallel universes" they are forced to conclude that there are other "dimensions" than those we can see.

Secondly, the matching of the computer with the millenia-old study of Bible codes has proven that the Bible was divinely inspired and communicated to men by a Being with an incomprehensible mind. Ivan Panin, a Russian mathematician in the early 20th century was cited by the Novel prize committee as having "proven" that the Bible was written by God due to his lifelong study of the Bible Codes.

One book you might find interesting is "Cosmic Codes - HIdden Messages from the Edge of Eternity" Dr. Chuck Missler. It can be ordered through www.k-house.org.

I just finished reading "Parallel Worlds" by Michio Kaku, and found it quite enlightening. However, we must remember that man's knowledge can only extend so far. The Bible has greater truths to reveal and the study of it is more worthwhile than a thousand physics textbooks!

I'm not sure of the word "transmission", since God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit are one in the same. God and Jesus always existed as in Genesis it says "In the Beginning there was the Word". The Word is another name for Jesus as listed in Revelation. So, basically in my viewpoint, there was no transmission that occurred.
