Why are there so many diffrent versions of the bible? Does that indicate that the real word of God is lost?

Stay with the KJV bible. The more you read it, the easier it will be to understand.. These new "revised" versions are made for the sole purpose of getting new pattents on them. It is for profit only. But they tell the people it is because they made it easier to understand. That is not true..

Take a glass of pure water that is half full, and slowly add a drop here and ther of vinigar over time that glass of water is no longer water but diluted vinigar. The same things happens to the word of God. When you keep changing words, and you need to take into consideration that words from the biblical days have changed their meanings drastically over they years, that a good many of the words today do not even come close to what the words from the biblical days ment.

Help meet Vs Help mate.

Today the word meet, means to meet someone at a destination. While the word mate is your spouce. But In the bible, the word Hep meet is actually talking about the spouce.

Find you a good study bible with a concordanance in it. I like the rainbow study bible. It is so easy to understand, because the scriptures are divided up into different colors, as to who said what. Lavender is God , dark gray is sin, yellow is about family,etc

But the most important part of having a bible is to study it every day. It wont' gather dust, if you are constantly reading it.

It's NOT. The bible originated in 325AD by the order of the Roman emperor Constatine. He did this so he could dictate what the bible would say so the pagans could be controlled. It also allowed for the removal of many of the Gnostic texts that spoke of jesus as a normal man with a message, and not a deity. He is deity status was actually voted on by the same council that decided what books to actually put in the new testament. There is a lot more history to this check it out. The bible is a work in progress it has needed to be so that it control the people that follow it. It has needed to EVOLVE so the church maintains control. The reason for so many versions is because of all the translations.

well new bibles are always coming out cause people think cause the times has changed so should the bible. The NIV was such a big hit when it came out cause it was to help people understand the KJV. But what people failed to see was that it took out words like Jesus, God, Blood, Hell, and even takes out whole scriptures. Its the Holy Spirits job to help a saved person understand the scriptures. The true word of God is not lost. A person needs to read how KJV came to be the word of God, and how many saved people died just so we can have a KJV bible.

The Bilbe was mainly written in Biblical Hebrew, with some portions (notably in Daniel and Ezra) in Aramaic.

The true bible doesn't exist anymore !!! it was disappeared in 325 AC after the King Costantine ordered to burn all the bibles and kill almost 1500 priests who belived that there is only ONE God and Jeus is His Messenger and a prophet. and he kept alive about 350 preists who were looking for power to start the new creed of christianity to match his religion (paganisim) by making Christianity similar to his religion so he can influence his army because more than half of them were christians but they didn't know much about it. in 325 AC the churchs ( the 350 preists) decided that Jeus is the Son Of God and they decided to preach the Trininty. Because it's sounds the same religion of King Costantine. This is a fact that Nobody can hide it. By the way the idea of Jesus is the Son of God started with an Egyptian priests his name is Alexandaron in 250 AC. King Costantine took his idea about Jesus and wanted to force it to the rest of the christiants. The majority of the priests and christians at that time believed that there is Only One God and Jesus is just a prophet who God created him without a father as He created Adam without a father nor a mother. Read about Islam , your eyes will be open to the truth.

the true bible wouldn't have any spelling errors and have the right numbers of stories from the old and new testaments...the only versions that can be made form a Bible is the language and nothing else. Genesis should be the first book and Revelations should be the last.

There are plenty of frauds and the only way to get a good Bible is if you go to a Christian Store where they sell rosaries and crosses, don't go to any other store like a mall or outside shop.

No. The King James Version was, as I see , copied straight from the 1611 version, which is known as the original inspired word of God.( I I Timothy 3:16 ) ( I Corinthians 2:14 ) says but the natural man recieveth not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto him: niether can he know them, because they are SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED. I have a copy of the 1611 original, and everything is the same except things like a "v" in place of a "u" in certain words. they just basicly put it in our language, not changing any text or sciptures. So I read the KJV, and the Spirit reveals to me what the Lord wants me to know. Trust me....James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally ( or generously ), and upbraideth not: and it shall be given him. Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity ( mutual hatred ) against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, niether indeed can be. You see, the Bible wasn't printed for just anyone to understand, but his people who walk in the Spirit, or else they may interpret it wrong. I'm not trying to offend anyone, but, I just don't believe the Bible should be reworded, changed in any form. Pray for understanding and I, by my own experience, have learned to trust the Lord and get as much understanding is as needed for me. Don't just read the Bible...study it, and wait for God to open your eyes of understanding.

You can't translate the Bible from Hebrew or Greek or whatever literally because it just wouldn't make sense in English, so translators have to improvise a bit to make it work.

Even if the words aren't exactly the same, the stories are, so it doesn't matter. The Word of God isn't literally words, just messages.

No, it does not mean that the world is lost. Some people found the King James Version of the Bible difficult to understand because it was written in Old English using words such as "ye, thee, thou" ect. The New King James Version takes out all of the ye, thee, thou and it is easier to read and understand. The content and message is still the same, the wording is easier to read,

The oldest and most accurate version of the Bible is the Douay-Rheims version. Best to read the original BOOK and find out what it has to say. Incidently the Bible is Catholic....and Catholics use the Douay-Rheims version.
