and i'm still confused. i want a direct answer; Is jesus god, or the son of god? Some christians say god, others say son of god, some say both, which is it?

People always tell me that since "afircans sold others into slavery" true or not, that justify Americas oppression of the black race.

So according to this logic we can go out and by guns and kill people at random. Then tell their family you need to be concern with the people who legally sold them the gun.

So since America made the discision to oppress and are not guilty, so the shotter who shot can't be guilty.

We should get this law pass, do you agree?

I'm confused and i've heard this before from the bible. It goes "heaven and earth will pass away but gods word will never" or something like that. It confuses me because when you die aren't you suposed to goto heaven or hell but if you goto heaven aren't you supposed to be there forever? It is going to "pass away"? I think that is in the bible..

Does this mean what it says??.

I love God and I'm a Christian. I have accepted and believe. I pray every moment but...for some reason I only really feel it at night when I finish devotions. Does someone have an answer?

The state which has at various times been called Divine Inspiration, a Relationship with Jesus, or Nirvana is in fact caused by a release of some dopamine and serotonin ("the opiate of the masses"). It gets you a little high, makes you feel good. I'm wondering why that is. What possible edge for survival led our ancestors to develop this trait? We all know that religion is a tool of those in power; that's why it has stuck around throughout recorded history. But how did it get there in the first place?

I myself, have practiced Wicca since the 1980's. Because of its premise of being balanced, love of Nature, honor of the MOther Goddess and the Feminine, I had assumed that it was alignment with the kind of Peace Love and Kindness of the Hippies of the 60's. Unfortunately I have found many who feel we should fight and hate each other such as the witch wars etc. Who would like to see it in the more peaceful light, sort of like Eastern thought.

He is from northern Africa. Morocco I think. Speaks me scripturs from the book of Qur'an, in both english and islam. His mother and father I know little about. He is taking care of them because they are older, and can not work. The only thing I know for certain, is his parents told him it was difficult to find a muslim where we lived, and it would be ok to date. No he is not the older style of Muslim. He does fast for ramadan. He definatly does Salat, I have been hung up on the phone because he needed to pray. I consider the religion because of some of the faults that christianity has.

I am just curious. Some of us believe in reincarnation. Some even claimed to remember their past lives and recognise some people from their past lives in this lives.

Does anyone of you people there remember the intermediate stage after your death and just before you are born.

What is it like?

Are the above Bible quotations or straight from Greek fables and mythology?

Above are Paul's three accounts of the same dream or drunkenness with the Bible providing witnesses with Paul who heard no evil, saw no evil, and could not give any evidence at all.

It's been put in my heart to address the issue of god's mercy and his judgement. I feel like as christians today, many expect god to bless their own ambitions, and fail to honeslty seek after him to really* know who god is. But i honeslty believe that churches need to not adapt to the 21st generation, as in this big megaplex churches that preach an inspirational doctrine without conviction, yes they may reach some people who may have never known god and i'm not to judge, but* I do believe you have to enforce the point that god will judge, and we as christians have to actaully love god/therefore wanting to follow his laws and thus being rewarded with eternity in heaven. I just think alot of christians today dont know who he is, and i say this because i'd say 85 percent of my christian friends..mix the oc/rap music and other sinful things with saying they are christian, and those 2 hearts do not align..

anyone agree with me on this aspect?

This is an issue that the bible conrtradicts itself on. According to christians, Jesus was god in human form, right? So that would mean that Jesus = God. But then, it also says that jesus was god's only son? how could he be his son, and him at the same time? did god create jesus? or was jesus god? and if jesus was god, then wouldn't god be your savior, since they're the same?

Hey every1 that is a Christian and ya I know nonChristians will come in here too! But thats fine but I wanted to tell you a miracle God put apon me last night! A small one but it was amazing love! Well last night I was making some popcorn.... but there was no butter so I tried melting some butter in the microwave... well 10 sec dident do much so I tried a nother 20 min, but when I took it out it was really hot! and the butter got on the bottom of the bowl and sliped and poured all over my arm... boling butter it hurt sooo bad! I put a some cold water on it but nothing worked! I starting crying and came to my dad and he started to pray with me.... I dident know how this would exactly help but he said trust me it will.....at the time I wasent really caring I just wanted the pain to go away! But I couldent sleep all night and after we prayed just a little bit... my pain went away in 10 min... all of the pain and I went fast asleep! But Isnt God amazing, has he ever done a miracle on you?

Whether you believe in God or Mother Nature or the Great Spirit or Oneness, etc, most people believe that the universe gives you signs as to which direction to go, and which choices to make. To make it simple, I'll put it in Christian terms, but you can replace God and Devil with whatever you believe in, ok? Don't nitpick on that, focus on the question at hand, mmmk?

If you see 20 bucks on the street, is that God giving you a sign to pick it up, or is the Devil tempting you to take money that's not rightfully yours?

This question is NOT about 20 bucks. It's not about finding money on the street. Do NOT answer that question. The only question I want answered is: How are we to tell the difference between a "sign" and a "test"?

I'm new to Christianity, so I've been using Yahoo Answers to answer my religious questions. I hope you don't take them into offense in anyway.

The Bible wasn't written by God directly, right?
So why do people say it is God's word?
From what I've read, yes, it does have things that God directly said, but how in the world can this be a basis of religion?

Why do people go by this?
Indeed, it does have wonderful advice and wisdom,
but does that mean that a person can attribute all of it to one figure in religion? (peoples contributing to one figure)

In what ways can this be plausible?
From what I've learned in history, the Catholic faith has gone through much corruption through wielding so much power in ealier times, so why is this book not considered thought up of while in that corruption? I know that the Catholic faith wasn't the first church, but it was the most influential

So what I'm asking is why is the Bible the word of God and wouldn't the corruption deal with it?

someone i love is falling really bad...and he thinks smoking weed, hooking up with girls, and drinking will make things better. i told him it doesnt, but he says,"Yeah for that moment it does." He use to be a strong christian, now hes really bad...Curses really bad...into wordly things. I care for him a lot, but...

He came to me today, saying he hates his life cause the girl hes with cheated on him many times...and hooks up with guys. and i told him hes going to find a girl who will do that.

He also said his life is so bad, friends turn on him, and that he needs to get high and drunk.

I have a strong boyfriend now, and when he calls, he keeps hinting, he needs me singing songs that say,"I keep coming back to you, cause i need you." and just saying stuff bout love. and getting upset that i have a bouyfriend.

What do i say as a christian to him to make him realize Choosing the road to Jesus is the best...and what do i say to him the consequences of what hes doing?
