This is an issue that the bible conrtradicts itself on. According to christians, Jesus was god in human form, right? So that would mean that Jesus = God. But then, it also says that jesus was god's only son? how could he be his son, and him at the same time? did god create jesus? or was jesus god? and if jesus was god, then wouldn't god be your savior, since they're the same?

And if they aren't the same, does that mean that the holy trinity is false?

yes, choonkey, i've read the bible. maybe you should read it too before telling people to read it. and if i were to start reading it in genesis, it would take me 1137 pages of my bible to even get to a part about jesus.

Eeek, a Trinity question!

Okay, put on your seatbelt and here goes....

The trinity makes no sense and no amount of "faith" is going to make it work.

God, the father .. .God, the son...God, the holy ghost -- three faces of the same being just does not make sense biblically.

First we have God. He's the supreme creator (etc) who knows all and is all and and is ... spirit.

Jesus was the son of God. There was a miracle in his birth, but he walked the earth as a man. Jesus was tempted, God can not be tempted and that's the whole point. Jesus had to fullfill the law, walk the walk and ultimately follow God's choices even though he asked if "this cup could be taken from him."
He did not know the future. He was tempted. He was flesh. And he was killed.

He died.

He was dead for three days and three nights.

God raised him from the dead.

The third facet of the Trinity is the 'holy ghost', which is holy spirit spoken as the Great Mystery by Paul. In which, all christians could be born again.

There are some that believe that when Jesus was on the cross, he cried "my God, my God why hast thou forsaken me" and then they put the aramaic words in (eli eli lamna shabaktani -- and I know this isn't exact, you can look it up).... suggesting that the translaters were not sure of the translation. Some belive that instead of "forsaken" as in 'abandoned', it could be "left" as in 'spared'. In other words, Jesus just before dying is finally told WHY he's gone through all this, humiliation and death, by being told that some day all christians could be born again.

And so ... if you believe that Jesus is God, nothing works! One prays to God in the name of Jesus. Jesus Christ is our mediator to God ... sez so in the Bible.

Good questions...continue the paradox: How can God be infinite but still be a man? How could the son be the father? and you forgot about the Holy Spirit, that makes up the Triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit?

Faith is a powerful thing! Have you ever actually seem the egg and sperm conceive a child? No?How do you believe it happens?

Did you ever see gravity? or air? or the vacuum of space? DO you believe they are there? Count from 1 to the highest number...infinity. Can't do it? How is it so hard to believe in an entity that you cannot see with so many others that you also can't see but believe exists?

Jesus is not the same 'person' as God the Father. He is the Second Person of the Trinity; of the same substance and essence as the Father and the Third Person, the Holy Ghost, who proceeds from the Father and the Son.

A somewhat poor metaphor used by the Fathers is that the ray of light is the same as the light of the sun from which it came but they are yet distinct.

God the Unincarnate did not "create" the Son; He is eternally begotten and not made. From before time He as a Being proceeds from the Father as He is the image of the Father yet seperate. Jesus as human with a human soul [Council of Calcedon] came ot be at a specific point in time. But, the Second Person of the Trinity co-existed always with the Father.

I hope this is a beginning. This is not a quick-answer matter!
Remember, the Trinity is a non-Euclidean construct so it appears strange to us just as the shadow of a tesseract is the pale representation of another dimension that we do not perceive [or so some claim]. Think about this in the light of what you learn baout non-Euclidean geometry.

Jesus and his Father are both gods.
The Godhead is made of three gods:
1. God the Father (our Eternal Father)
2. God the Son (Jesus Christ)
3. God the Holy Ghost (or Spirit of God)
They are unified in purpose, and are therefore "one".
If you read the Bible with this understanding it makes perfect sense.
Jesus is recognized as the God of the Old Testament (Jehovah).
And yes, the concept of the Trinity (3-in-1) is false.

Jesus is the word of God that manifested in flesh. Jesus is the the son of God because out of God He came. When your son is born, he is born as a human being, because his father which is you is a human being. When some one is born from God the Father, then he is like His Father a God, not a man, although he came as a man to redeem man, but He came from the father and not by a sperm of man. So what comes from a man is a man, and what comes from God is God. Jesus however, accepted to take a body pure and sinless as the body of Jesus to offer himself a sacrifice and to redeem mankind from his sin which entered into the world through Adam.

Jesus is God. Jesus is the word of God. Are you a separate person from your word? In the beginning was the word, and the word was God, and the word was WITH God. It doesn't get much more plain. The holy spirit is God too.
Are you a separate person from your spirit?
The holy spirit impregnated Mary, and that is the only way, that she could stay a virgin while being pregnant at the same time. Jesus, or Elohim, is the earthly name given to the word of God. Before Jesus, the Word didn't have a name. It was with God. There is no record of God speaking with man through burning bushes, or anything else, while Jesus was on Earth. Elohim means God with us, and He was, through Jesus. God created Jesus. He needed to show man that he could once again have the eternal life that man was first given in the garden of eden, before man's fall. He was here to show by example. He was perfect. By dying and rising again on the third day, Jesus showed man that he too, could have eternal life through Jesus Christ. Jesus was God's son just like we all are sons and daughters of God, but Jesus was begotten by a virgin. This is how Jesus is God's only begotten son. All other sons of God, that are human, were begotten of a man and a woman. This is why Jesus is the only begotten son of God, and He is the word of God too. Therefore, Jesus is God. There is no contraindiction, Jesus clearly said, I and the father are one. When Jesus showed His deciples the vision of God saying This is my son in whom I am well pleased, after He was baptised by John the Baptist, the deciples opened their eyes, and all they saw was Jesus. It was Jesus that was speaking, for He is the word of God made flesh. Every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess, that Jesus is Lord God Almighty.

No, Jesus and God are not the same person and true Christians do not teach this and neither does the Bible. The Bible says they are one--just as it says that a man and wife are one and God wants all of us to be one just as Jesus and God are one. To truly understand this teaching, we must learn to be united with one another in purpose and truth. God is our savior and Jesus is the only mediator between God and man plus the sacrifice of his perfect human life is the only means we have of being reconciled to God after Adam passed sin and death to all the rest of mankind. The trinity teaching is a lie.

God is the father almighty maker of heaven & earth, of all that is seen & unseen,
Jesus our Lord, only son of God, was begotten not made,
one in being with the father,
Then there's the Holy Spirit, the Lord the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father & the Son,
With the Father& the Son he too is worshipped & glorified he has spoken through the prophets,

This is how I understand it.......
God is the Father of all, Jesus is his only son, whom was born of Mary. Joseph was his step-father.
BUT they are as one......God the Almighty Father, Jesus Christ the Savior, and the Holy Ghost our Comforter.
They are all as one in the sense that they all derived from God, therefore all believe, act, and conform to the same being. Think of it like Grandparent , Parent , and Child, you are three different individuals, but when together with family or confronted with strangers, you stand together as one.
When Jesus died and ascended into heaven, he left his spirit behind to carry on his work, through this means are some still able to heal, prophesy, and work miracles.
God and Jesus are in heaven watching over us and the Holy Spirit, is here to guide us and to comfort us when we are in need.
But, in the end they will all three stand together as one.
