Some of you think I'm a Christian. I was a Cathoilic for over 40 years. I'm now agnostic.

As requested by Daver, here is just one link of many, to satisfy his demand for examples: http://www.atheists.org/christianity/contradictions.html

Most members REFUSE to see the errors.

Many ESCAPE the CULT every day -- as I did some years ago.

Do Catholics know their doctrine is flawed?
I would imagine that some do. I would also imagine that many don't, simply because they are uneducated in what that doctrine really is, and how it actually came to be. So I believe the doctrine, in itself, isn't so much flawed as it is most Catholics' understanding and knowledge of that doctrine is flawed. I believe the major reason this is, is due to many practitioners are raised in a religious tradition, they grew up Catholics, they go to Mass, they might pray, tithe, and the whole bit... however when it comes to really understanding all of the symbolism, the WHY and how a particular tradition was started, why it is continued... then the original meaning of this "flawed" doctrine becomes lost, the Mystery is Gone.

It is my experience, as one raised in a Catholic family, that Catholics, in general, don't know their doctrine AT ALL!!!

However, Catholic theologians work hard to try and cover up the flaws. Catholics say their religion is not based upon the Bible; they claim it is based upon Tradition, which is based upon their interpretation, not of the Bible, but of what they think Christianity should be.

As far as my research has shown, Catholic Tradition has overrulled biblical and apostolic teaching at least since Polycarp, the bishop of Smyrna, and Anicetus, the bishop of Rome, had their little discussion back in c.155 A.D.

I imagine that Catholic theologians know the flaws (they are a pretty heady group), but the laity are very ignorant of most all of the doctrine they claim to abide by. For instance, though the laity call Sunday, "their sabbath," the theologians are careful not to claim any such thing.

The fact you "where" a catholic for any length of time at all is totally irrelevant. It is interesting that you claim that Catholic Doctrine is flawed, but you fail to provide even one example of this alleged flaw...

You are either unable or unwilling to provide examples. I find it hard to believe you are unwilling because, by providing examples, you help legitimize your claim.

I'll bet you are unable to provide examples, thus exposing the possibility - probability even - that you don't know what you're talking about, even after 40 years, allegedly.

It seems that they don't as they will not study the Bible for themselves. The Catholic Church is a total farce and the Lord will destroy it during the tribulation as per Revelations Ch.17 V1-9 Their existence is the perfect example of a "religious movement" and religion can't save any one. Thankfully Jesus didn't come to establish a religion but rather a relationship between man and God. They deny the finished work of Jesus Christ as they cant accept that a person can be saved by simple faith of Christ without works. These are the types that the Bible describes as the Anti-Christ and the Bible declares them to be Cursed. The Catholic Church added 2 books to their bible despite the warning given in Revelations which states that anyone adding to the words of the prophesy of the Bible, the Lord will add unto them the plagues which are written in the Bible, one of those plagues being death.

Do protestants know that their doctrine is also flawed? After all, some protestant religions teach that homosexual orientation sends people straight to hell, that we are predestined for heaven or hell, or that a woman's place really is inside the home. I ask myself, "what would Jesus do?" and I know that I should remain Catholic, if only for the social teachings and teachings about Christ.

All religions have some draw back, if you read and study the Bible some verses can be understood in several different ways.
I say read, study, and from that choose which religion you prefer to follow, if any,
but JUDGE NOT, FOR THERE IS BUT ONE THAT IS WORTHY TO JUDGE, GOD ALMIGHTY HIMSELF !!!!!!

And if they don't? I'm not a theist or even a deist, but some of these attempts at posing a tough question are pathetic.

Just like every other religion. Especially Christianity. Facts have no place in organized religion. That is why they are all flawed.

I'm catholic and couldn't care less about some doctrine. I pray and that's about it. I don't know if your trying to get a rise out of Catholics, but sorry I'm not biting.
