When people are judgmental they don't have to examine themselves. It's a cop-out.

All people have opinions and your mind categorizes information based on these opinions. The judgement part enters into the picture when you place CORRECT and INCORRECT labels on your opinions...meaning...your opinion is CORRECT and everyone else is NOT correct. Then people feel the need to place these labels onto other people who have differing "incorrect" opinions.
I personally feel people judge because they don't have the insight or lack the intelligence to see the other side of the coin because they are too busy labeling things as right and wrong.

All people have opinions. And pretty much all of them form opinions about everything. Doing so is only natural; if you think about something, end up incorporating it into your world view, and in doing so, you form an "opinion".
When people have negative opinions, and voice them, it's called "judgmental". When their opinions are positive, suddenly it's not so judgmental.
I think a better question would be, "why are people so negative?" To which i would respond: they aren't really that negative; they just tend to talk the most about the things that they feel negatively about. After all, you don't complain about something that you're satisfied with.

Our brains work by categorizing things, which requires judgement. Judgmentalism is part of our nature.

That is why we are called "Human". We can never run from it. Human will always be judgemental, unless and until we learned how to appreciate another human being.

bec they want to feel good about themselves. they judge, do some put downs and justifies their weaknesses.
