I myself, have practiced Wicca since the 1980's. Because of its premise of being balanced, love of Nature, honor of the MOther Goddess and the Feminine, I had assumed that it was alignment with the kind of Peace Love and Kindness of the Hippies of the 60's. Unfortunately I have found many who feel we should fight and hate each other such as the witch wars etc. Who would like to see it in the more peaceful light, sort of like Eastern thought.

I have always tried to incorporate those values into my life. Harm none. Sometimes it's hard to differentiate harm none with letting people walk all over you.

I haven't found any who think we should "fight and hate each other." But I've found plenty who won't set aside their principles for a false sense of belonging, or to make people comfortable with hypocrisy.

Love of nature doesn't mean peaceful. Nature is not peaceful. Nor is it kind. Revering nature means understanding that it's no kindness to coddle weakness. Not that we must be harsh, but we must be aware that always being nice is not going to help someone in the long run.

I don't want Wicca to be more like Eastern thought. Many Eastern religions are very focused on the mind/body duality, and believe that the "spirit" is holy and sacred, and the "body" is dirty and profane--that the goal in life is to transcend the body, not to enjoy it.

So much for having a non-revealed religion based on Mystery. Is this the correct forum to discuss such things? Write an article for witchox
